The first time Tyson stayed with Tammy, everything went according to plan and seemed great. He stayed with her during the day for around 8-9 hours. I decided to rebook. I was going on a cruise for a few days and she agreed to watch him. Before I left for the cruise, I booked and paid for the trip. We scheduled drop off/pick up days and times. As soon as I got service after getting off the cruise, I checked in and she said everything had gone well. While waiting for my plane, she messaged me and asked if I could pick him up a day early. Because I was in another state, that was not possible. She messaged back and said she had just gotten her days mixed up. So we confirmed again that my husband would be there to pick him up at 9am. While I am at work on the morning of the pickup, she messages me and tells me to let her know when my husband was on his way so that the neighbor could meet up to get the dog. I wasn’t able to see this message until about two hours after the pickup time. I immediately contacted my husband who said that Tyson was left in the back yard with a bag of (some) of the things I brought for him for the week. A toy and the leash were missing and there was no neighbor to meet him. It was not an issue for Tyson to be left outside. The problem was that it was not communicated to me and I had no idea who the neighbor was and they weren’t present either. I contacted Tammy and told her that she needed to contact me immediately and that I did not pay for her neighbor to watch the dog. After calling several times with no answer, Tammy called me back. After I said hello, she yelled “your f***ing dog s*** all over my house, do you really want to come at me sideways?!”. I asked a few questions regarding his stay. Because she had messaged me and said everything went very well, I was very confused when she said he had been bad. She also told me I should have told her my dog wasn’t house trained. Although my dog has been house trained for two years and only had one accident due to a nervous stomach. After speaking with her more, I found out that she fed him 6 pounds of food in the few days I was gone. She fed him a 5 pound bag of food and some extra that I packed just in case. I told her very clearly that he should receive only enough food to cover the bottom of his bowl twice a day (about 1 cup per feeding) when I dropped him off. He was still sick for two days after I got him back. That explained the accidents he had in her house. She explained that the reason she had to leave in the morning was because of a family emergency, which is totally understandable, but there should have been much better communication. She eventually apologized for her bad behavior on the phone and for the miscommunication. Regardless, I will never rebook. Long story short, she did not follow my feeding instructions, she did not communicate to me that my dog had been sick or having frequent accidents until she got mad and started yelling after he had been picked up, she did not communicate the changed circumstances of pick up until the morning of pickup, and finally, when a serious situation did arise that I needed to speak with her about, she handled it with yelling and cussing. If you are 100% sure nothing will go wrong during your pets stay then I would recommend her. If there is any potential for a problem or change in plans on your side, hers, or your pets, I would strongly advise that you look for anyone else. If she is you’re last option, prepare for her to disregard your instructions and to treat you unprofessionally and disrespectfully. I never cussed or yelled at her in response, but that didn’t seem to calm her down. I was never compromising my character in the exchange. She will not treat you politely even if that is how you’re conducting yourself. If you care about your pet, or just your peace of mind, do not book with her.

Tammy was wonderful! I will use her again.
