TWO HOME FULL TIME ♠️ FENCED YARD

Pet care experience

We are located just five minutes from Siesta Key, and we offer Dog Boarding and Doggie DayCare to Siesta Key vacationers and Sarasota residents alike! You get "TWO HOME FULL-TIME SITTERS” with a “FENCED-IN YARD” here at NUTZ FOR MUTZ Cage-Free Dog Boarding. We do have SIZE & BREED RESTRICTIONS, so please read CAREFULLY! We are your "TEACUP, TOY & SMALL BREED" specialists and only board SMALL BREEDS with a maximum size of 25 pounds and standing 12" at the shoulders. We have a 2.4 lb. teacup Maltese which can be injured very easily, so for that reason, we only board small dogs. Any dog which displays excessive hyperactivity traits is usually NOT a good fit as we board many geriatrics. Any member of the "BULLDOG FAMILY" such as the French Bulldog is usually not a good fit as their strength usually far exceeds that of most small breeds. Pugs or Boston Terriers (even those which fit into our maximum size guidelines) may not be a good fit as they often display major hyperactivity traits and are usually stronger than the normal small breed. Each of these breeds can be evaluated on a case-by-case basis as we have to protect our smallest boarders, the Teacups & Toys. We make every effort to keep the smallest of our doggy boarders in a totally safe and secure environment. We also do not accept Doodle mixes as they are not small breed dogs, unless your Doodle mix fits within both our weight and height requirements we will not consider it. We do offer a "SIBLING DISCOUNT" for homes with more than one dog. We ALSO OFFER DOGGIE WASH WITH BLOW-DRY SERVICE to our Dog Boarding and DayCare clients for an additional fee. A Meet ‘N Greet producing current vaccination records is required before your pet’s first stay unless you require a last-minute booking or are coming from out-of-town for vacation. Promptness for your appointment is always appreciated. VACCINATIONS REQUIRED * Rabies * DHPP (Distemper, Hepatitis, Parvo, Parainfluenza) OR DAPP (Distemper, Adenovirus, Parvo, Parainfluenza) * Bordetella (Kennel Cough) * Lepto (Recommended only) OR An exemption letter from your vet citing health issues prevent your pet from being vaccinated. I am a retired dog mom and a life-long dog owner. While most pet sitters are part-time and still working another job, I am pet sitting full-time. This is my ONLY job. I was pet sitting in Bradenton prior to buying a home in Gulf Gate Estates in South Sarasota FL. I am only 5 minutes from Siesta Key and all the home pics are of my new home. At Nutz For Mutz, your little one will be treated as family where they are free to romp and play. They will never be caged, and they will never be left alone outside or unsupervised. I have a small clean single-family home and only sit SMALL breeds. Your baby will never be exposed to a larger breed dog, and we require all the pets we sit to have their shots and vaccinations up-to-date. Your baby is welcome to sleep in bed with me or in their own bed, whichever they prefer. They are welcome to sit on the couch or in our laps. We also have plenty of pet beds for your baby’s own private space and comfort. Our home is neatly kept with vinyl plank flooring throughout so the occasional potty accident is never an issue. However, we prefer NOT to take on any habitual sprayers, or any pets which are NOT housebroken. This type of behavior is too disruptive to the other doggy boarders and requires constant mopping. We usually always have a dozen little doggies around (Including our own), and we can take up to four or five more little ones during the busy season and holidays as the bookings may overlap. Our home is puppy proofed keeping all power cords tucked away and anything harmful that can be swallowed out of reach. We also have a Chion (half Chihuahua, half Papillon), and a Hava-Jack (half Havanese, half Jack Russell). Both were rescues. Our Chion likes to keep to himself and watch the other pets come and go from the comfort of his doggy den. He gets along best with smaller breeds who have lower energy levels as high energetic dogs can make him nervous. The Hava-Jack is extremely social and loves to play with any dog who is willing to play with her. Our home is a safe and care-free zone complete with pet cameras inside and out. We also have motion lights around our home for nightly potty walks. These lights do illuminate our yard. We also take precautions in the event we would encounter a stray or wild animal outside after dark. Your baby’s security is our top priority! We have a small well-maintained yard that is kept free of debris. We go out to the backyard every two hours for potty breaks and exercise. Our backyard is enclosed with a 6 ft. white vinyl panel privacy fence, however, your baby will never be outside unsupervised. We also use a double gate system in case your baby would slip through the first gate. We prefer lower energetic dogs who do not bounce off the walls inside as high-energy dogs can make the older boarders nervous. Your baby will receive a pet massage during their stay. This consists of a very gentle massaging of their muscles and joints, and some light stretching of their legs and paws. This is sure to relax them and relieve their anxiety. We promise to keep your baby safe and happy until you return! I have health issues so we are “Early To Bed and Early To Rise” in our home. So please do not request any “Late Night” drop-offs or pick-ups. We normally do not take any drop-offs or pick-ups after 7:00 PM in the evening.

While it's never easy to leave a pet I felt good leaving my dog with Tami. Her large fenced yard was a big bonus and the amount of time she and her husband spend inside with the dogs is great. They really make them part of their lives. The indoor space is cluttered but there is plenty of room for the small dogs to move around. Tami sent me a picture of my dog plus 3 others on her lap!

Information Tami B. would like to know about your pet

Please bring an extra copy of your pet’s current vaccination records for our files before their first stay with us. Your baby should have ID tags on their collar. They should also have their name written on (or sewn into) ALL items that are brought in their overnight doggy bag (i.e. toys, bowls, beds, blankets, leashes, collars, clothing, medicine, grooming items, food containers, treats, etc.). This step is necessary to ensure everything goes back home with you. A “Nutz For Mutz” ID tag with GPS tracker which contains our emergency contact information will also be placed on your baby’s collar. This will be worn throughout their stay as an added security measure. Your pet should be spayed or neutered, and be on some type of monthly flea and tick control. In addition, our yard is sprayed quarterly by a professional pest control company. We have it sprayed for weed control, as well as for fleas, ticks, fire ants, spiders, mosquitos, and any other annoying pests. This step is important when trying to control biting insects as we would rather avoid your baby being bitten to start with.

A typical day

We always play within the safety of the fenced-in puppy yard where your baby is free to run and play with the other pups. This play-time is always supervised by myself or Garry as our boarders are never left outside or inside unattended. On hot days we play inside where it is cool and out of the mid-day sun. We have a pet playpens inside where the door is always open and your baby is free to come and go. They can play with their own toys, or eat their meals in their own private setting. Your baby will be fed according to their own dietary restrictions, as per your instructions. Our meals are served at 7:00 am and 4:00 pm. We have installed a high-efficiency whole house water purifying system at the water main to remove all toxins, chemicals, and hard metals from our water system. We have also installed a Reverse Osmosis system under the sink for additional purification of our drinking water. Your baby will only be drinking top quality purified water on a daily basis. Both their food and water dishes will be washed and sanitized prior to every meal. Of course, we will make the administering of any medication your pet requires a priority. All of our own personal fur babies have been on the Wellness Plan at Banfield Pet Hospital in both Bradenton and Sarasota. They can verify the outstanding care we provide, and they have even recommended us to some of their clients as a pet sitter. We will also be texting you daily photos and small one-minute video clips of your baby’s activities to ease your separation anxiety. All videos will be sent to your private cell phone as they cannot be sent through the Rover website. It is important to us that you feel we can be trusted with your most prized possession... your fur baby! Nutz For Mutz is licensed and insured. We are a registered Florida limited liability company, and I personally have passed four extensive background checks with various local pet-sitting companies including Rover. I am also a Florida Notary Public, an ordained Christian Minister, and I have been background checked and finger-printed by the state of Florida as I hold an active state license. We want to earn your trust, and we look forward to becoming your favorite pet sitter!
