Growing up as the only at home, my "siblings" were always furry ones! Ever since I could remember, I've always had either cats, dogs, or both at home. Apart from knowing how to keep these little babies entertained, I know all the "do's" and "dont's", like its second nature. Typically when I have friends or family leaving town, I am the go to for pet sitting! I am super affectionate when it comes to animals, and will do whatever it takes to keep them well fed, walked, and played with. My mom always said to me animals are better than humans (LOL), and i've pretty much grown up with this sort of mentality. They are just too good for us! I am a full time 2nd year medical student, which means I am in my pre-clinical years studying from home. Being at home all the time leaves my schedule pretty flexible for hanging out with your 4 legged buddy! To keep me sane, I usually go out for a jog or walk daily and take 20-30 min breaks every 1-2 hours. During these time frames, I am super free to take doggies out for a walk, jog, or a chillout session in the park. I have a 2 bedroom apartment that is pretty spacious, which should give the doggy plenty of room to run around in if they are energetic. My building also has a ground floor fenced backyard with plenty of greenery which gives room for roaming. I also live a few blocks away from Margaret park in Edgewater, which has its own dog park there. My home is pretty minimal, so there aren't random little things hanging out on the floor, which can become hazardous for pets to swallow. I also have an old cat whose declawed (has no front claws), his name is Mr. Jack. He's a very relaxed cat (Like the one from Alice in Wonderland) and has lived all his life with dogs. He's a major cuddler.
