Pet care experience
I became a pet sitter simply because I believe that dogs deserve only the best care that we can offer them! Dogs are just so wonderful and caring for us, and their selflessness has always been so inspiring to me. They can bring joy to any situation, so I want to do whatever I can to do the same for them! It’s simply my goal to bring as much puppy happiness into the world as possible. I’m grateful to have been around dogs for virtually my whole life. I’ve had many pets of my own, and all but one was a rescue dog. Although I don’t have a dog of my own, my family dog has problems with anxiety, but I’ve always been there to help them out and make sure that they felt as happy as can be. Taking care of pups that need a little extra TLC is my specialty, so I’m always happy to take pups in that could benefit from as much love and patient as possible. I’ve been a pet sitter for a long time, so I’m very excited to have the opportunity to grow my client base and bring as much love to pups as possible. When taking on a new client, I typically like to schedule a meet-and-greet. It’s a great way to make sure that we’re all a good fit for one another, which is so important to me. Likewise, it gives us the opportunity to chat face-to-face about your pup and your care expectations. No one knows your dog better than you do, so it’s always great to chat with owners in person about what makes their pup tick! Finally, I just love meeting new dogs! I like to get down on their level to show them that I’m a welcome presence here to make friends, and I’m sure we’ll be best buddies in no time at all. I firmly believe that communication is one of the most important aspects of any stay. During the stay, I’m always taking diligent notes and am happy to keep you updated on just about anything you need to know—that includes exercise times, meal preparations, and behaviors. Likewise, you can always look forward to tons of great pictures of your pup and I having a blast together! I’m simply happy to do whatever it takes to make sure you and your pooch are as comfortable as possible. I go above and beyond and do it all with a huge smile!
Reviews
Sydney S. cancelled a booking 1 day before it was scheduled to begin.
Gave updates throughout the day and left the apartment as it was when I left. Really professional and i feel safe leaving our pup with Sydney!
Sydney was wonderful! She was responsive, took great care of my two cats, and was kind and accommodating. I highly recommend her.
Sydney is so reliable and my cats love her!

Safety, trust & environment
As someone with curious kitties of my own, I have plenty of experience proactively maintaining a safe and secure environment for pets. I always pass through doors carefully, blocking the door as it's open to prevent any escape artistry. While I'm there, whether it's for a drop-in, a walk, or an overnight stay, I am sure to leave things better than I found them, clean, and everything right where it belongs.
Information Sydney S. would like to know about your pet
Some things I like to learn ahead of time: Would you like to schedule a meet-and-greet before the stay? Will we be wearing masks when we meet? What’s your preferred method of communication? Does your pup have any health issues that need to be tended to? For instance, dietary restrictions, medicine, or behavior triggers? Do you have a vet nearby that you trust? Is your dog spayed/neutered? Does your pup like to stick to a given schedule, like regular walks in the morning and evening? What does your pup do well around? What does your pup try to avoid? What’s the best way to spoil your pup? Are there any special procedures you would like me to follow in your home to protect us both from COVID-19?
A typical day
Getting out and about just fills my heart with glee. I love walking pups beautiful areas where dogs feel relaxed and excited to play! The spring time is the greatest time to get out and enjoy the beautiful blooming life outside! My favorite walks are through park trails. It’s such a great place to bring dogs, and there are so many great things to sniff and see while we’re out. I'm also excited and willing to experience different walks and different parks than I'm used to! If your pup has a particular path they prefer, feel free to tell me! I'll even travel it before we hit the trail if I haven't been already, so I know for certain that I'm 100% familiar with the terrain. Whatever it takes to make your pup smile from ear to ear!

I'm currently studying full-time to get my MFA degree in Game Design at NYU. My current class schedule is Monday, Wednesday, and Friday evenings and Thursday mornings, leaving plenty of extra time outside of class (especially on weekends!) to dedicate to caring for all the pets I have the pleasure of visiting!
