Pet care experience
As an avid animal lover I have dedicated my life to the care of animals. I hiked and walked packs of dogs as an official job 3-5x a week for over 3 years; these packs would sometimes be up to 6 dogs. Other times, I would hike dogs alone if they struggled with aggression. I also did house sits and visits during this time. Today, I am a wildlife (bear) biologist. During my bachelors degree I worked as a veterinary technician. I am very knowledgeable on the health and behavior of animals. I have grown up with & cared for a variety of animals including dogs, cats, birds, reptiles, rodents, & some livestock. I used to volunteer at my hometown's local animal shelter for socializing & caring for the shelter animals as well as in the vet clinic. This exposed me to many animal behavior types, and I feel comfortable with ALL personalities of dogs and cats, no matter how difficult they may seem to others. I am able to administer any medications needed. Because I will be emphasizing my career in wildlife I am also interested in working with out-of-the-norm or more exotic pets. I love and respect every animal I come across and am able to quickly understand their demeanor and how to act appropriately around them. I cherish my childhood pets, so I know how you feel about yours and would never offer anything less than the best care for them.

Sydney was great. Took Addie on late notice, sent updates, took her for an awesome hike. I think Addie had a great time!
Lucy , our 2 year old extremely energetic dog (German shorthair pointer/lab mix) loved going for a runs with Sydney, and misses her very much since She relocated ! Lucy was still “in training” regarding riding in a back of a car and walking off leash in wilderness (Utah) but Sydney trained and handled her extremely well, which is huge help for us now. If Sydney ever comes back here we will hire her in heartbeat as a dog sitter/walker.
I worked with Sydney for almost 3 years as a dog sitter, walker, hiker, and Pet Care Professional. Not only does Sydney have experience working in a veterinary clinic — and thus has expert knowledge about the health and wellness of animals and what to do in emergency situations — she is also a warm-hearted and loving caretaker of pets. Sydney is responsible, trustworthy, and kind. She is the type of person that clients were sad to see move-away, as they, and their pets, had formed a genuine attachment to her as a friend and trusted professional.
I just love Sydney. My dogs adore her. In fact, I'm pretty sure if they could, they would just stay with her forever. ;) She takes them on long adventures. She is so loving with them. She socializes them and even trains them a bit where they need it. I have 2 very energetic Aussies so tiring them out is no small feat but she manages to do it. They come home happy and tired. I would trust her with my babies absolutely anywhere/everywhere.
