Loving & EXPERIENCED Vet Assistant!

Pet care experience

I've previously worked at Flint River Animal Hospital & Chase Animal Hospital as a Vet Assistant, and am professionally trained in small animal care! I love all animals, and have two kitties of my own that I've had for the past 6 years. I've lived with and around animals for my entire life, including cats, dogs, and horses, and am blessed to be able to work with them as my career! A few of my day to day tasks included feeding and exercising animals that are boarding at the hospital, grooming services (ex: baths, nail trims, anal glad expression, shave-downs), monitoring animals that are in critical condition, or who need timed medications, and making sure that the hospital environment is as sterile as possible to avoid the contraction or spread of illness. I am experienced in administering medications topically, orally, and subcutaneously (i.e. daily insulin injections), and am confident in handling dogs of all sizes and temperaments safely and with compassion. 🐾 Use coupon code ‘SYDNEP21065’ for $20 off your first booking! 🐾 ‣‣‣‣‣‣‣‣‣‣‣‣‣‣‣‣‣‣‣‣‣‣‣‣‣‣‣‣‣‣‣‣‣‣‣‣ I understand how daunting it can be to entrust another person to care for your fur babies, and I am committed to providing high-quality and personalized attention to any pets in my care. Please don't hesitate to message me for more details or information!

Great sitter! Caring and attentive of my cats. Will get you pics on any hiding fur babies if you ask. Used her services several times now and she's helped ease my stress of being away from my kitties.

Our flight home was cancelled so we had to book last minute. Sydney accepted our booking and took wonderful care of our cats while we were away. Sydney is the best!!

The BEST. Sydney has a beautiful, calm energy that my (not always nice) cats respond to! She takes the best care of our diabetic cat and gets her the needed shots. So thankful for Sydney.

Sydney was amazing. She made sure my pups and house was taken care of. And also sent the cuties video and pictures while she was there. I will definitely be rebooking her.

Unfortunately, I am not able to offer services out of my home, due to the animals that my partner and I share. 6 kitties and rambunctious pups don't mix! I do not offer boarding of daycare services in my home, as my partner and I have 6 cats between us and that wouldn’t be an ideal situation for them or your pup(s)! I am happily willing to follow all rules set by you in your home for your pet, including complicated routines because I am well aware that some pets require more detailed care than others.

Information Sydney P. would like to know about your pet

It’s incredibly important to know about a dog’s temperament before interacting with them, with or without their owner present. A few things that I would ask on or before a first meeting with a new pet might include: • How does your dog react to strangers? Is he/or she happy-go-lucky and friendly to everyone, or do they need time to warm up to someone new before they’re comfortable? • How would you describe your dog’s general temperament? • What are your dog’s regular feeding and potty schedules? • Is your dog food or toy aggressive, or are they protective over their possessions? This is important during playtime, for the safety of myself and your pet. • Does your dog have any medical issues that require attention during our visit, or preexisting conditions (i.e. medications that need to be given, internal problems or injuries that would limit activity or play, **allergies to any ingredients** if I were to bring treats, etc.) • What are your dog’s favorite toys or ways to play? • Are there any areas that your dog absolutely does not like to be pet or touched?

A typical day

I believe that a tired and well exercised pup, is a happy pup! Depending on your dog’s preferences and stamina, I’d be happy to go for walks around your neighborhood or in an area that is familiar to them, or perhaps to a local greenway or nature trail for a refreshing change of pace! We could stay closer to home for some play time in the backyard, or a mix of the two!
