Reliable & Caring Psychologist

Pet care experience

***I just moved to Massachusetts from Missouri. I am in the process of transferring my services from St. Louis to Concord. I will be accepting new customers in Concord starting September 8th. I’m looking forward to meeting new customers (and their owners 😋)*** About me: Hi! I’m Sydney, 32 years old, and I’m a doctor of clinical psychology. I love my therapist job and I also love spending time with people’s pets in my spare time. I’ve worked at a humane society for 2 years, so I’m familiar with all kinds of breeds and ages of dogs. I’ve also worked at a zoo, so I’m experienced with caring for all sorts of animals. I volunteered at KC Pet Project for a year helping foster dogs and get them out of their kennels to destress. I’ve watched my professors’ and friends’ dogs, and lots of my past roommate's dogs. Being a psychologist, I do know how to dog train if you’re interested in that (positive reinforcement, teaching tricks, crate training, potty training, agility training, clicker training). I’ve done agility with my Dalmatian Shelby (lives with my parents). I would love to watch and care for your pup! I promise to give them lots of pets and to send you photos of how they’re doing. If you have any questions, feel free to ask :)

We recently had the pleasure of hiring Sydney to take care of our 11.5 year old dog, Kaia, while we were away from April 14th to April 20th. Sydney did an amazing job looking after Kaia and kept great communication with us throughout our trip. She sent us regular updates, including pictures and videos of Kaia, which really helped ease our minds while we were away. One night, Kaia unfortunately threw up multiple times, but Sydney handled the situation with professionalism and care. She cleaned everything up promptly and notified us right away. Sydney kept a close eye on Kaia to ensure she was okay and didn't hesitate to reach out to us about any concerns. Thankfully, Kaia was back to her normal self the next morning, thanks to Sydney's attention and care. Not only did Sydney excel in taking care of Kaia, but she also took great care of our house. We returned home to a happy and healthy dog and a clean house, which was such a relief. We are incredibly grateful for Sydney's excellent service and will absolutely hire her again in the future. She truly went above and beyond, and we highly recommend her to anyone in need of a trustworthy and caring dog sitter.

Everything went very smoothly. This was a last minute trip and Sydney did a great job helping me coordinate everything. It's clear from her messages that she really cares, and my dog looks very happy when she's with him. Thank you Sydney.

Sydney is like having a family member take care of your dog. She gave up frequent updates, pictures and videos, but not too much. We had a small health problem with our aging dog, but she dealt with it and kept us well informed. It was minor, and we knew that Ollie was being treated very well. I am concerned about recommending her too highly so that she won't be available when we need her. She's become an important member of our family. Thank you Sydney. 5 GOLD STARS

My home (if you choose boarding or doggy day care): My boyfriend and I live in a luxury apartment complex in Concord. We ensured I got a pet friendly complex for this reason. Please check with me for any breed or weight restrictions our apartment complex may have. Please note that we live on the 3rd floor-no elevator-as this might determine if your furbaby is a good fit for that many flights of stairs. We have 2 pets- a German Shepherd (female) and Australian cattle mix (male). They are well socialized and friendly goobers, but do still have their preferences. So I would recommend we can do a meet and greet with both my pets and yours prior to booking to make sure they get along. If they do, your pet will have 2 great play mates, while still getting lots of one-on-one attention from me. I can let them outside several times a day. Keep in mind that I can stay at your house or apartment as well! I also have toys and dog treats here. I’m happy to accommodate! I spoil my dogs and my parents' and friends' dogs, so I'll spoil yours too :)

I’d like to know what a typical day looks like for them, when they are used to eating and how much, any medications they’re taking, how they do on a walk, what their favorite thing to do with you is. I welcome all breeds!

A typical day

Your pup can be walked around my neighborhood, or a nearby park. They can play inside. They can watch TV and nap on the couch. If they know any tricks, I can practice their tricks with them and give them lots of treats :) They can go to a nearby dog park (only if you’re comfortable with that of course). If they’re used to car rides, I don’t mind having dogs in my car.

My schedule: I am a full-time clinical psychologist (Monday-Friday 9 a.m.-5 p.m.). I work remotely on some days, so please ask because my schedule can vary. I promise to leave your pup with a bone and/or toy so they are comfortable being alone that long. Let me know if you usually crate them or leave them free roaming. I can let them outside right before I leave for work. And I can play with them/keep them company/wear them out in the evenings and spend lots of time in the evenings with them. I will spoil them like I spoil my own 🥰 Weekends are generally wide open, unless I'm out of town (refer to my calendar). If you have any questions about my schedule, feel free to ask, as it can fluctuate depending on my patient caseload. I would love to spend my extra time playing with your pet and keeping them company while you are away.
