Dog-Loving and Pet-Passionate

Pet care experience

Hi! I am currently a student at UNC at Chapel Hill studying Human Development and Family Studies and English Literature. The hardest part of being away at school is not being able to be with my pets everyday. I have an 11 yr old longhaired dachshund, a spitz and samoyed mix, a chihuahua, a King-Charles spaniel and corgi mix (still a puppy), and 2 cats! I'm very passionate about animals in general, and I always want what's best for them. I have an outwardly calm disposition which make most people and animals comfortable around me. I am hard working and very responsible. I am very cautious when it comes to animals, especially other people's, I would never want anything to happen to my pets so I try to treat other people's pets like I hope they would treat mine. I have volunteered at multiple animal shelters after hurricane crises and over summers in my spare time.

Sydney checked in on my Maggie girl as scheduled and made sure to take photos for us to enjoy while away. There are no limits for this girl, for Maggie is a large and overly friendly dog. Shes very respectful, fun, super sweet and beyond loving. #1 recommended Rover sitter if I say so myself. Thank you Sydney

Syndney house sat with our dog Max. We could not have wished for a better experience. We were gone for a week and returned to find our dog curled up on the couch with her watching tv. This was our first time leaving him since we adopted him. He didn’t even get up to greet us! Just sort of lifted his head like, yeah, okay. Lol! Our home was neat and clean and our dog was obviously comfortable. We are so grateful. Thank you again Sydney.

I don't have any breed preferences, however I would like to know about any anxieties that a dog may have like, thunderstorms, strangers, cats, other dogs, separation, etc... so I can try to make them as comfortable as possible. I also need to be aware of any health conditions or allergies so I can make sure the dog is well taken care of!

A typical day

We will definitely go on walks, just locally, around the neighborhood or small community. I love to play fetch with dogs and on pretty days a dog and I will enjoy some quality outdoor time. Also, I love to cuddle a good dog. Generally on drop-in visits I will spend some time playing with them, a short walk or potty break and a hug goodbye! On longer stays we will go on walks, play fetch, tug-of-war, and cuddle!
