Your pet’s home away from home!

Pet care experience

I’m a remote worker who tries to incorporate pets and animals into my every day life! I have over 4 years professional experience petsitting, but have been around pets and have had pets in my home for all 28 years of my life! I’m a five star rated Trusted HouseSitters pet sitter and a foster for NHA here in Nashville. Now I’m entering into the Rover world and look forward to meeting your fur babies!

I cannot say enough good things about Sydney! She was INCREDIBLE! Sent thoughtful updates throughout the stay and I could tell my boy was having the time of his life. Having her took away all the anxiety about leaving him and I will 100% be asking her to watch him again!!!

Sydney was amazing with my 3 year old pug Millie! Millie can be quite stubborn and sassy, and Sydney handled her with ease. She sent very thorough updates and pictures throughout my trip and followed my directions perfectly. It’s always hard for me to leave Millie, but it was clear that she was given a lot of attention and very well taken care of. Will definitely be using Sydney again in the future!

Safety, trust & environment

I do not have a yard but I am in the heart of Germantown so parks and paths are right outside, and I am walking distance to 3 different dog parks. I take your pets safety very seriously and will prefer that all dogs stay leashed and that any snacks, treats or food is never administered without owner approval first. My apartment will be puppy proofed, so shoes, clothes and trash will be inaccessible to all fur babies. I do have a patio that is open for all pets to roam at their convenience. Pets who tend to jump or have a history of being escape artists will only be allowed on the patio with supervision. The patio is a hit with my rover pups as they love to people watch and watch the world go by. All fur babies are allowed on furniture and beds unless otherwise stated by owner and I’m happy to continue training in my home based on owner’s preference. (Ex: if dog is not allowed on couch in their own home, I can continue that training at my house so your dog knows all furniture is off limits). I do provide a crate if your dog prefers to stay in a crate, as some pups feel more safe in there. I also have a house full of dog toys, poop bags and enrichment toys, but you are more than welcome to bring whatever your pups need to feel welcome! I live in a one bedroom, one bathroom apartment close to the sounds stadium, so fireworks are common. If your pup needs extra care to feel comfortable, please don’t hesitate to let me know! Medication or health requirements are welcome, as I’m used to caring for foster pups with anything from recent surgery, to allergies. My place stays stocked with peanut butter and pill pockets!

Information Sydney D. would like to know about your pet

Please let me know if your dog requires any type of medication or dietary needs. Just let me know if your dog has any sensitivities, key trainings I should be aware of, or allergies. Please let me know how your dog handles being alone in the house, if separation anxiety is common. Please also let me know if your pet is house trained, crate trained and leash trained. These are not required but will be helpful to know so I can better prepare. Also let me know their energy level so I can be sure that I carve out enough time in my calendar to provide your pets with what they need!

A typical day

I tend to work flexible hours, so a typical day will include 3-5 walks with at least one 45 min long walk (depending on dog, health and temperature). I am a runner so for high energy dogs, I am happy to provide runs. I also have a rooftop deck that serves as a great running area for reactive or non-dog friendly dogs who need some ball time or tag. I also live close to three dog parks and am happy to take dogs there if owners allow. My walks will include around germantown, bicentennial park, the capitol, and Capitol Hill.

Availability

I’m a full time remote worker who has a lot of flexibility in my schedule, so multiple walks and dog park trips are always provided, accommodating even the youngest pups who need a bit more access to the bathroom! I’m able to have overnight stays and/or daily stays, and am able to pick up and drop off your fur baby to make your life easier! I only take dogs from the same family at one time, so you can rest assured your pets will have my full attention (Up to 3 dogs from one family at a time, depending on size). My schedule fills up fast, so it’s best to book as soon as you have your dates in mind. I know life happens, so if I’m able, I’m happy to accept day-of reservations!
