Though I have grown up caring for pets around my own household, I have been asked to pet-sit dogs and cats since I was about 11 years old. I have simultaneously watched children and pets during various babysitting jobs since that age, too (which many can agree is a lot to tend to!). Alongside this, in the summer of 2018, I had the opportunity to travel to Puerto Rico, where I was able to take an approximately week-long course in animal training. During this time, I learned reinforcement skills to implement into the training. I also sat in on a puppy-training course in Prescott for a few weekends to observe how the instructor taught each person to train his or her dog in different situations. Lastly, I volunteered at Harmony Holistic Veterinary Care last year, where I sat in on appointments, learned diagnoses according to the patients' needs, and assisted in surgeries.
