Pet care experience

Hey, I'm Syd, my peaceful home is set up for the safety and comfort of my two small dogs who are both friendly and socialized. Any dog in my home would have free run of the house and yard (if weather permits) and would be treated as a family member. With permission and approval, your dog could also join on trips to the beach, dog park or nature trails. You'll have one less worry knowing your dog is not only safe and content, but also stimulated with activities and attention. I have cared for animals since I was a child and have experience with both domestic animals as well as exotics. I completed an internship with Back to Nature Wildlife Rescue in 2013. Through this internship I learned the importance of enrichment and how to care for injured wildlife using basic veterinary medicine. I have also volunteered with the Orlando ASPCA and Tampa Humane Society. I feel this makes me exceptionally qualified as a pet sitter. Why I love dog sitting: My earliest memories were of my family dogs, so you could say I'm a life-long dog lover. Dog behavior and psychology has always fascinated me, and I have always sought to gain as much knowledge as possible. I would love to add to our pack someday, but until then I feel that dog sitting is the best way for us to enjoy having new dog friends in our home,. About our lovely yard: I have a secure, privacy-fenced yard with grass. The dogs are welcome to run, dig, explore, and enjoy just being dogs. My experience administering medication: I am comfortable giving pills as well as administering injections. I have gained this experience through an internship.

My husband and I moved to Orlando recently and do not really know many people and were very skeptical of who could take care of our babies. I am so glad I came across Sydney and Danielle. They are both wonderful! They took care of our pups wonderfully and were constantly sending us pictures and videos. We will continue to use them on each of our vacations. Highly recommended!!!

Sydney and Danielle were fantastic with Coco. I felt at ease leaving her with them and they treated her with great care and shared lots of photos. I look forward to using them again as does Coco. I recommend them without reservation.

We will definitely be using Sydney again to watch Harley. She met with me before the stay to get a feel for Harley's temperment, which was great. Her house/yard were perfect for a larger dog and she sent photos throughout the stay. I felt as if she took care of Harley just as well as I personally would have. She was very nice and obviously an animal lover :)

Sydney is one of the few people I trust to watch my dog, Casper. She is caring, energetic, and patient. Sydney and I were neighbors who met while both out walking our pups. When I had to leave town to attend a family reunion, she was the first person I asked to watch Casper. She did a wonderful job reassuring me that he would be safe and happy with her and quickly updated me on how he was doing whenever I texted her. I will ask Sydney to watch Casper the next time my family is busy and I would give her the highest recommendation to anyone considering leaving their pet with her.

Information Sydney A. would like to know about your pet

Before a dog comes into my home I would like to know basic information for their safety and well being. I would like to know how well-trained your dog is (recall, commands etc.), your dog's energy and dominance level as well as their friendliness with new dogs or people. I also feel it is important to discuss your dog's daily routine, likes and dislikes and special needs they may have.

A typical day

Where will we walk? I believe walks are a very important part of daily life for dogs and will be taking them for walks unless asked not to. I would also be more than happy to take your dog on an "excursion" to a nearby hiking spot, dog park or beach. Where will my dog sleep at night? Your dog will be sleeping in my bedroom at night so i can monitor them to make sure they are comfortable and safe. They will have the option of sleeping in their own bed or in bed with me if they prefer. How much time will we spend together? I would plan on spending the majority of my day with your dog. I would only be leaving for brief periods (errands, class etc.) that would be less than 3 hours. Safety First! Dogs are curious by nature, and my number one goal while dog sitting is safety. We keep our trash can in the garage (door closed) so there's never a chance of anyone getting into it. We have a baby gate so if our dogs need to be separated at any time, we will still be able to keep everyone visible and comfortable. We use it to separate dogs in the event we need to leave the home or for dogs that are destructive when left alone. It can also be used across the front door to keep escape-prone dogs extra secure. What is your training style like? Rules, boundaries, and limitations should be an important part of any dog's life. We are firm believers in positive reinforcement and do not use any kind of physical punishments. Time I'll spend with your dog: I would be spending the whole day and staying overnight with your dog. In the event that I needed to leave, it would be for a brief period of time to attend class or run an errand. In my experience having someone in the home as much as possible helps the dog feel more secure and relieves anxiety. Extra house-sitting services: I would be happy to care for any plants or even a whole garden. I am also qualified to care for other pets including fish, reptiles or any exotic pet.
