I have always been a dog lover but was not allowed to get one as a child; when I was 21 years old, I finally adopted my first dog. Since 2013, my family have adopted 4 other dogs! Currently I live with my two dogs: an energetic fluffy terrier mix named Finn and an adventurous and independent schnauzer/terrier mix named Ruby. In addition to ownership, I have volunteered at the Arizona Humane Society and Arizona R.E.S.C.U.E; at these organizations my responsibility included walking and playing with dogs, help coordinate adoptions, housesitting with cats, cleaning litter boxes, playing with cats, and even getting cats medication. I have also dog and cat sat for various friends, as well as taken in many stray dogs I’ve encountered on walks temporary to locate their owner. Currently, I am pursuing an online MBA; therefore, I will easily be able to accommodate walks around the dog owner’s schedule. I’d be willing to help out just as needed or even commit to a regular routine. I would prefer dogs under 40 pounds, as that is the size I am most comfortable waking; however, a meet and greet and trial walk can be arranged for larger dogs to assess their on-leash behavior. I always keep dogs on a leash for their safety —I will not provide off-leash walking. I will also be able to use my own waste bags to clean up after your dog on walks. If your dog is also looking for companionship during walks and/or during the day, I’d be happy to help out! I do have a house with a fenced in yard, a medium sized crate, a larger crate pen, and 2 spare bedrooms, so I can easily separate dogs if one dog gets overwhelmed and needs his or her space.
