We care for your dog like our own!

Pet care experience

Wood "Ruff" Pet Sitting is a full service pet sitting company. We provide boarding, doggie daycare, overnight stays at your home, occasional and weekly walks. But it's not just dogs we take care of. Whatever furry or non free loved one is in your home that you need help with we can handle. Need a service you don't see listed? Just ask. We are partnered with trainers, pretty stores and groomers in the area so consider us your one stop shop for anything pet related. Boarding in a Kennel can be "Ruff" on a dog. I've had clients complain that their dog came back with colds, goopy (yes that's the technical name for it) eyes and smelling awful. So whether you want to relieve the stress of bringing your dogs somewhere else by having us and your dog stay in your home, or you want to bring your dog to us, we can accommodate and love what we do. At Che Wood"Ruff", your pet will live in the lap of luxury. Let your dog join our family for a night or a week and avoid all those issues. I am a proud member of PSI and am fully insured and bonded. I have a dog, Sammy, who would love a playmate for a while. We have almost an acre of land and fantastic areas to go for walks in. We will pamper your dog like you do. Should your dog need any special medication - no worries, we will take care of that for you. Does your dog need to go out for walks three times a day? No worries. Taking care of pets is my only business so I am home to do so. When we are not out for walks, I would be spending time with your pup in our cozy family room if it's bad weather out, or outside in our yard which is almost an acre, so lot of room to roam around. Plus built in entertainment as we frequently have deer, rabbit and lot of squirrels visiting the home as well. Everything your loves pet could want. No more cold concrete kennels with tiny outside runs for your pooch. Though many pet sitters will watch 3 or more dogs at a time, I have a personal policy to only host up to two dogs at one time to ensure the safety of all the dogs. If the owners want their dog to stay solo, that can be arranged for an additional fee. We try to accommodate our clients in every way possible. About this sitter: Responsible, experienced Petsitter for your loved pet - no matter what it is, in your home. I am a proud member of PSI and fully insured and bonded. I will come and walk your dog, socialize your cat, feed your bird, whatever it is required. I will also open/close your blinds, water your plants, take in your mail. My goal is to offer my clients customized, professional and friendly service at a reasonable rate. I offer both daily dog walking services for my clients who are away from home for the day and vacation services for clients who need extended visits when they travel for both business and pleasure. My clients health and happiness is most important to me. I will care for your pet and home like it is my own. My rates are $25 for one 30 minute visit/walk a day and vary depending on the amounts of visits/walks and animals in your home. I have been loving and taking care of animals my whole life. I have been petsitting since I was 11 and my next door neighbors needed their dogs watched. I have volunteered in numerous animal rescue groups and all three of my pets are rescues. I will take care of your pet as if they were my own and take care of your home as well. If your pet has special needs, I'm the one you want taking care of them. Many of my previous foster animals needed specific medication or other specific needs required. My flexibility allows me to attend to your pet whenever you require and I do it willingly. Why I love dog sitting I have always been an animal lover in general. I grew up with cats, gerbils, birds, fish, mice, hamsters, etc. We got our first dog when I was 12. Daisy was a trucker's dog who needed a good home. We were happy to give it to her. In college Boo, the cat, followed me home. She is still around 20 years later. My next dog was Sineadh. She was rescued from a junkyard in Newark though she was much too sweet to be a guard dog. Currently, there is Max. A lab/pit mix from St. Huberts. He is a sweetie and loves all other dogs and people. He, along with Lucy and Annie (the cats) make up our happy pet-friendly household. Meet my pets In our home are Max the dog (LOVES any kind of canine companionship), and Lucy and Annie the cats. They aren't crazy about canine companionship but have learned to live with it. About my yard Our home is located on almost an acre of land. It backs up to woods so the pups have a variety of wildlife to watch from our two sliding glass back doors. My experience administering medication Absolutely. I do it for my cat currently. Don't worry, it's nothing catchy :-)

Information Suzy W. would like to know about your pet

I have no breed preferences. I love them all. I would like to know how the dog gets along with other dogs, people, cats. When I walk the dog, I will need to know how they react to others so I am prepared so keep everyone safe. I also want to know if your pup has any special needs I should be aware of. I want their stay to be as comfortable and relaxing as possible and to give YOU peace of mind as well.

A typical day

Here's where we'll take our walks We will go on numerous walks while your dog is staying with us. We travel up the hill and down various side streets so walks can vary from 1/2 hour to an hour each time, depending on the energy of your pup. Your dog's sleeping arrangement Your dog will sleep wherever it sleeps when it is at home. If your pooch is used to sleeping on the bed, that's where it will sleep with us. If it is used to sleeping in it's crate, please bring your crate along as we want your pet to be as comfortable as possible. Time I'll spend with your dog My basic rate is $25 for a 1/2 hour visit (includes a 20 minute walk, feeding and giving some love) This time can be lengthened for additional cost. Each additional visit is $10 Extra house-sitting services I will take in mail, water plants, switch on and off lights, draw drapes etc.
