Furry friends are the best friends!
Pet care experience
I have always had a rescue pet, ever since I was a small child. Our last dogs were Annie, a German Shepard, that passed in 2001, and Zoe, a Lab/Samoyed mix that passed this summer, 2015. I have two rescue felines, Tinkerbell and Sophie. Our Zoe had diabetes and heart issues, and she had a strict diet and medication routine. Our cat, Tinkerbell, has hyperthyroidism, and she requires a special diet also. I am familiar with the worry and stress of ensuring that someone will care for the furry friends while the family is away from the home. We have actually learned to coordinate schedules so someone is always at home in the evenings for feeding and medication. I have cared for friends' pets and my daughter's pets. I love cats and dogs; we are unable to replace our dog at this time. So...caring for someone's else's dog will give me the fun of a pet while I wait for my turn to adopt another rescue dog. I donate large amounts of money each year to animal rescue groups, including our local groups, the national Humane Society, World Wildlife Fund, ASPCA, and Noah's Wish (rescues of pets during weather disasters). My husband is a Lieutenant with the local Police Department, so help is readily available if needed. I have quite a few friends at the Police Department and the Sheriff's Office.
Reviews
My pups did very well with Susan! I am very particular about their care and was not stressed at all leaving them to be cared for by Susan! I will definitely use her again :)
Did a great job amd our dogs love her! They responded quickly to her!! Thank you!
Susan is one of the most caring, compassionate, responsible & trusted persons I know with her animals. I would trust her with any child or animal at any given point on any given day. She is a special, wonderful woman!

Information Susan V. would like to know about your pet
Before staying with a dog, it is helpful to have their schedule and feeding on paper so I can follow it exactly. Also, emergency numbers for yourself, family, or friends who could get in touch with you if there is an emergency. I am a bit apprehensive of aggressive dogs, pitbulls, boxers, and dogs that bark ferociously or bite. I can be won over, though.
A typical day
I will walk your pet in and around your neighborhood. I don't like to transport other people's pets, in case there is an accident or other emergency. I like to talk to the dogs, pet them lovingly, and in general, treat them like a baby or small child. I am used to following routines, as my daughter has a strict one for her son, so I do what she tells me to do. I do not sneak treats to pets unless you give approval, as it can harm their systems. I love to sit on the floor and play with dogs, puppies, cats, and kittens! I especially love puppies and kittens, but I enjoy being with all ages of furry friends.
