I grew up having dogs and cats and still love caring for them. Our 14 year old son also loves animals. We can't commit to having pets because we travel during summer, so we dog-sit. It's been a great way to introduce our child to caring for animals while satisfying our pet cravings. Your dog will have a 14 year old playmate, so we only take kid-friendly dogs. The house is big and allows for plenty of playing fetch and running around, both indoors and out in the yard, which is fully fenced. Older dogs normally find a comfortable spot in the sun and follow me to the garden. They are the best gardening companions. Walking: Tiring out bundles of energy (either dogs or kids) does wonders for behavior! The length and duration of walks will match your dog's energy level. There are hills and four parks nearby, one features a fenced dog run. Adults do the outside walking. Availability: We are available most weekdays because of the switch to WFH. Weekends also work, pending out plans. Your weekend boarding may encompass both a day rate and a boarding rate. Activities: We can either take your dog along for our activities (activities, hikes, classes) or leave him at home if he can stay by himself. I will ensure your dog is both rested and exercised daily. Puppies: YES! They are a lot of work but unforgettable. We will follow your instructions as far as crating, etc, and limit your puppy to the downstairs, where there's no carpeting. He or she will be checking out the yard pretty often. Weekdays: early morning walk, then plenty of back yard time during the day, with some fetch or just exploring. The backyard is large and steep, good for tiring out active dogs and entertaining curious dogs. Long evening walk around Bernal Hill. Our yard is fully fenced. If your dog is a notorious scape artist, let us know to ensure he stays closely supervised or on leash at all times. Most dogs are happy to explore the place, sit in the sun and follow me as I garden.
