Susan is the best. Our dog loves her. I trust her completely.

Susan neglected our 5 month and 8 year old dogs while they were in her care. Our care instructions, such as how often they need access to the yard to potty and what and when to feed them, were not remotely followed. For example, in the first evening, both dogs were kept inside for 14 hours straight when the care instructions said 8 hours maximum, resulting in a massive mess in the living room that was barely addressed. And they went through 3xs the amount of food they are supposed to have, which most likely added to the mess in the living room. Additionally, she left the door to the backyard wide open for 3+ hours as a way to give them access after the first big mess, but didn't actually monitor them, as she retreated to the second floor and later verbally stated she didn't know where the 8 year old was. She also called both of them names and scolded the puppy for being a puppy. My dogs were left to their own devices and my house was left unsecured. We know all of this because it was recorded on our home security system, but would have suspected anyway because our dogs were not okay when we returned. We left two house-trained and secure dogs in Susan's care. It took 3 weeks to retrain the puppy, and still, over 7 weeks after this experience, neither dog feels secure being left alone in the house long enough to run errands. We will not be having Susan back, and recommend that if you choose to, you monitor your home from away and have a backup plans.
