Quality, Loving Care for any animal

Pet care experience

(Please fully read my bio. Most of your questions will be answered.) Hello. My name is Susan and I've been working with dogs since 2004. I have experience pet sitting and training. I have had a huge passion for animals since I was a little girl and it continues. I have dog sat for litters of puppies to Great Danes. I train obedience and manners, as well as compete in dog shows. I have trained everything from a teacup Shih Tzu to Pit Bulls and Mastiffs. I have even trained dogs with disabilities and dogs for people with disabilities. I have a Boston Terrier, Rhodesian Ridgeback, and Doberman. As well as my dogs I currently have fish and Guinea pigs, and in the past have had rabbits, birds, horses, and reptiles. If any of these animals also reside in your home it will not deter me from taking care of your beloved pets. I look forward to providing your furry family member with top care while you are away.

My experience administering medication I have had to administer medication to my own dogs, as well as some that I have sat for in the past. That being said I will only care for pets that are not contagious to other animals. I do not want to risk the health of my other clients, as I typically have more than just yours on any given day. Their health and happiness is a top concern of mine and I will do what is necessary to be sure it is achieved. I do NOT administer any type of injectable medication, I personally am unable to handle the sight of needles. Anything oral, topical, eye/ear drops, etc I will gladly do for your pet(s).

Information Susan M. would like to know about your pet

Before sitting for a dog I would want to know personalty, its likes/dislikes, if it gets along with other animals, any known allergies, any medications, and normal routines. I am comfortable with any breed of dog and with my back ground in dogs love them all.

A typical day

Time I'll spend with your dog will be as close to their normal routines as possible. Time between potty breaks will be determined and agreed upon between myself and the owners before each booking. (I am always flexible to the dogs needs and owners wants for this. Everyone is different and wants different time lengths and their dogs are used to schedules and I try to stick to them as best as possible.) I unfortunately cannot sleep over at your home, but will check in as late and as early as you would like, for agreed upon times. I will still give your pets the care, love, and attention they need during my visits with them throughout the day. Extra house-sitting services I don't mind doing additional tasks, within reason, while you are away. I will always bring in any manageable packages I find outside your home. If I am watching your pet(s) while you are away I will bring in your mail, turn lights on and off with the appropriate time of day, open/close blinds, etc.

Why I love dog sitting I have grown up with dogs my whole life. Sandy was my childhood dog. He was a Lab-Cocker Spaniel mix. After Sandy came Gigi a Bichon Frise and Leila a Rhodesian Ridgeback. Leila got me started in dog showing and training. I trained her in Rally (similar to obedience) and we obtained our title with 3 qualifying trials. I obtained a career diploma with Penn Foster in Dog Training and Obedience, and went to Rider University where I received a BA in Psychology. When I moved out on my own, I got my Rhodesian Ridgeback, Themba, and my Boston Terrier, Salem. I worked for PetSmart for 3 years as a pet trainer and pet care manager. During this time I was able to train almost every breed of dog as well as dogs with disabilities. I have experience with aggressive dogs as well, but that will be on a case by case basis.
