*SCHEDULE AVAILABILITY - Rover will let you request even if I'm fully booked or just not available at that time in general, but I do try to accommodate. I have a very full schedule in general, but I am usually available for drop-ins every day, overnights Thursday - Saturday, but the times are limited. I work two pm restaurant jobs Sunday - Wednesday in addition to doing pet care and have to be there at 3 on Sunday - Tuesday and 5 Wednesday. I am generally not available before 11am due to working until midnight on those nights and the resulting sleep schedule, but I will book earlier if I can. Feel free to reach out about earlier start times. Typical start time availability - Sunday 11am to 1:30pm (for 30 min or 1 for 60), Monday and Tuesday 11am - noon (30 min, 11:30 for 60), Wednesday 11 - noon (30, 11:30 for 60) and 2:30 - 3:30 (30 min, 3 for 60), Thursday 11 - noon (30 min, 11:30 for 60) and 2:30 on, Friday and Saturday all day. For overnight sits I am usually not available to be there past 10:30 and before 7, with possible exceptions depending on schedule, including one mid-day drop-in for potty/food/meds. If I'm not fully booked I do try to spend additional time on 2+ day bookings, but I can't always make that work. Я говогю по-русский, мой второй язык (I speak Russian, my second language). When I was 5 I tamed a feral cat, and my friends say that their pets like me more than them. I have petsit for many friends over the years, including a senior cat that needed medication. I have a huge mostly tropical plant collection, ~75 (not counting props) in a 350sqft studio, and feel very comfortable with all sorts of plant care. Philodendrons are my favorite, closely followed by Rex begonias. I take my dog walker role as a person helping improve the quality of life of dogs living in small spaces, and do my best to wear out my high energy dogs. I also consider cleaning up after the dogs and avoiding peeing in nice landscaping as an ethical duty, do my best to reduce chances of public health risks. I have no problem with large dogs that pull/are leash reactive as long as it's from a place of wanting to play, not aggression. I generally take my dogs west as much as possible to increase the amount of dirt and plant smells instead of sidewalk and car exhaust. My current favorite walk places are the river walk accessible on Front & 17th, the hugebpark area around Chapman school, and Washington park. I walk around my neighborhood of NW Portland every day to unwind, feel safe and do not use chemical self defense tools. I always carry a flashlight that is bright enough to temporarily incapacitate someone even during the day. I also carry Narcan, which is effective on dogs without harming their sense of smell, and take a lot of care to avoid the foils and other harmful items left on the street. As a person in recovery with a history of housing insecurity I have a lot of empathy for those experiencing addiction without any privacy or sanitation services that we take for granted, but am also aware of the hazards that are part of this unfortunate situation happening in every major city. I avoid tents for multiple reasons. I've lived in Portland for 22 years and know nice walking spots in many neighborhoods. I'm 8 years sober, no worries of parties etc during house sitting. I like to bring a book and let the animals get as much snuggle time as possible. In addition to cat and dog experience, I currently own a leopard gecko, have owned rabbits and chickens on multiple occasions, have milked goats, and have a tiny bit of horse riding experience. I am happy to help take care of pets of all kinds.
