My experience includes caring for middle age doggies, but my specialty is the elderly dogs who are deaf, diabetic, blind or those with special needs, or meds, that need some extra TLC. I gained much of this experience by fostering the oldies with Lionel's Legacy, a senior dog rescue in San Diego, as both a foster and the Forever Foster Coordinator. I am also canine CPR certified and received a diploma in canine behavior and psychology through the ISCP in September 2020. While your pup stays with us, he or she can choose to take a snooze in one of our doggie beds, or our laps and will always have access to fresh air and sunshine in our fenced-in big back yard as there is always someone home and the backdoor is (almost) always open. We are completely force-free with our dogs so positive interactions in our home will never be limited. A note: there is no extra charge for administering injected medication or any sub q fluids, if necessary. Our family enjoys being surrounded by animals, so I/we do this for the love of dogs and to learn (and enjoy) all of the personalities of our new crew members. I work with senior rescue dogs and our dream is to one day have a hospice doggy farm. Rover provides me with the opportunity to immerse myself in a dog-filled world...how lucky am I?! The husband and I have planned our future around adopting senior dogs from shelters and providing care for them until the end and Rover is getting us closer to our goal every day.
