Full time dog sitter - I❤️them all!

Pet care experience

New Rover members get $20 off when you book with me. Ask me how! I have been a dog owner for over fourteen years now and love everything about them! I've owned and cared for many different breeds over the years and am comfortable catering to each breed and dog's specific needs. In July of 2018, I quit my "real job" to be able to take on dogs full-time. I have found my passion in caring for them and I couldn’t be happier about the transition. I currently have a fourteen-year-old miniature cockapoo named Corduroy and we have been on many adventures together, including countless camping trips, cross-country drives, and even living in Boston for a year and a half! I take her with me as often as possible as I adore her company. She is a sassy old lady who knows what she wants and had no problem telling you. We call her "Colonel Corduroy" because she most definitely thinks she's in charge. She generally wants nothing to do with the other dogs and is content to snooze in the living room or on my bed away from them all. I also rescued an adorable boxer named Houston in March of 2019. I found him on the streets in Texas (thus, the name) when visiting my boyfriend for my birthday. I searched and searched for his owners in every way I could think of and when I couldn't find them, I decided to keep him. The shelters there have high-kill rates and even the shelter employees told me that his best bet for survival was to hold onto him. So I did just that, and have made it my goal to give him the best life he could possibly imagine. I couldn't have asked for a better dog. He is gentle, kind, smart, cuddly, and super playful. He loves making alllllll the friends and always seems confused when they don't want to play with him. He is still learning how to be a regular dog and so has some funny quirks but, overall, he's a great addition to our little family! In July of 2020, my uncle passed unexpectedly, leaving his boxer, Harley, behind. My boyfriend and I took him in while things got sorted, and after the chaos had settled, we and our family decided that it would be best for Harley if we kept him. He isn't used to being around so many other dogs, and the process has been slow and difficult. With the help of an amazing trainer, we have finally gotten to the point where he can safely be around the others, so long as there is close monitoring. He still can't be left alone with any of his new friends, but it's only been a year, and we've come such a long way. Corduroy and Houston are starting to warm up to the idea of Harley staying forever, and Harley has *more* than settled in. In our free time, we love to go on walks and hikes, and Corduroy loves swimming when we go fishing. Run-A-Muk in Park City is Houston's favorite place and we go as often as we can. The best part about that little hike is all of the dogs we get to meet! Whenever I meet and get to know new dogs, the different personalities of each one is my favorite part. I love getting to know them and what they like: where their favorite scratch places are, whether they're feet cuddlers or lap cuddlers, tennis ball or rope toy.... the list goes on and on! Dogs are capable of such endless and unconditional love, and I just want to give them as close to that as I can in return. It's next to impossible to be around dogs and not be happy, so what better job than to take care of them full-time? I also have experience bathing and grooming (not professional, just at home with my dogs and those of friends and clients). I have tools for grooming and a spacious bathroom for bathing. I also have all sorts of toys and treats for the pups to enjoy. I have my own vehicle and so would be reliable as far as appointments, pick ups, drop offs, and emergencies. Additionally, I am certified in Red Cross Cat and Dog First Aid. I look forward to working with you and getting to take care of your fur-babies. I promise to give them the same love and care that I give to my own so that they don't even notice you're gone!

Summer always takes such great care of my pup and leaves a detailed and helpful rover card! She is great and understands a lot about dogs! It’s very helpful since my dog is in training mode! We will keep using Summer :)

A typical day

I live in a quiet neighborhood in Millcreek and so walks during boarding stays would be around the area for the most part. I also love Park City, Tanner Park and Millcreek canyon and frequent them as often as possible! As far as house sitting, I try to stick to your routine as closely as possible so the dog(s) don't experience any major changes in schedule.

I'm currently working part-time and am generally scheduled Wed 4:30-10:30 pm and Fri/Sat 4:30-12:30 pm. I can exercise and feed the dogs before leaving, but would only be available to tend dogs who are good for long windows of time at night.
