Pet care experience
Dogs are always welcome in our home. Let us care for your canine family member, when you are away. We want to put your mind at ease, and give your dog the nurturing, walking, playing and feeding it needs. We would be happy to meet with you and your pet to discuss the care of your animal companion. We have drop off time of 6pm, and a pick up times of 10am. We may have some flexibility with these times. We sit for mature dogs age 5 and up. We require a 3 night minimum stay. Please note that we have an additional $10/day fee for the following holidays: New Years Eve, New Year's Day, Good Friday, Easter, Memorial Day weekend, Fourth of July weekend, Labor Day weekend, Thanksgiving Day and the Friday-Sunday following it, Christmas Eve, and Christmas Day. Thank-you! About this sitter: We cater solely to your dog. There are no other pets or children in our home. Our beloved dog Bubbles, 15, passed away in June of 2013, we have chosen to concentrate on your companions. We love dogs, and it shows in how we relate to them. They are wonderfully intelligent creatures, and have always been treated as a family member. Teri volunteered at the Wisconsin Humane Society(the former Humboldt location). We have been fortunate to have had several dogs in my life. Recently, our beloved rescue,Bubbles, who was 15, passed away. She is missed daily, but I know we provided a life of love, nutritious food, and plenty of exercise. She lived the nurtured life she deserved. Teri also trained with Bubbles to become a therapy dog. We visited nursing homes together. She brought much joy to not only our lives, but others as well. We would love to care for your family member animals, as we did our own. We would be happy to meet with you and your pet to discuss the care of your animal companion. We have had the good fortune to have several canine family members in my life. They have been loved and cared for unconditionally. We have been members of Rover.com since October of 2012. Why I love dog sitting We have had dogs in our family for 27 years. Our most recent canine companion, Bubbles, passed away in June of 2013. We have always treated our dogs as family members. Meet my pets Our beloved Bubbles, 15, passed in June of this year. We are not ready for a new family member yet. Our home is pet friendly, very safe, with lots of open space. The couch and bed belong to both animals and humans, so no worries if this is where they are most comfortable. We love walking, and live near the lakefront, Lake Park, and the Urban Ecology Center. So, there are many beautiful places to explore with your canine family member.Even at 15, Bubbles received 3 walks daily. About my yard We currently do not have a backyard. My experience administering medication Yes. we have administered medication to our own dogs, as well as others.

Zuzu's third and longest vacation with Steve & Teri was another great experience! She happily romped right into their living room on Sunday and was just as happy and healthy when we picked her up on Friday. Teri & Steve kept our minds at ease by sending us photos & updates, and even indulged Zuzu with a little chicken baby food when they were worried about her appetite. We couldn't ask for a better home away from home for Zuzu, and are so grateful for the loving care that she gets at Teri & Steve's house.
Teri and Steve are always as excited to spend time with our blind dog Jessie as she is with them. My husband and I can travel far afield without needing to worry for a minute about the care the Jessie is receiving. It is a great comfort. Thank you, Teri and Steve!
Our dog George has stayed with Steve and Teri several times over the last year or so. He loves staying with Steve and Teri - we joke that when we go on vacation, he goes on a stay-cation in Steve & Teri's home! Whenever we drop him off, he runs into their house, tail wagging and butt wiggling, happy and ready to give lots and lots of kisses. Steve and Teri give him a home away from home, replete with several walks a day, lots of treats and plenty of cuddles. In addition, they always let us know how things are going - both with messages and photographs. It's so great to see that he's enjoying his stay-cation as much as we are enjoying our vacation!
What a joy to have our 9 year old Brittany stay with Teri and Steve! He was there for a 2 week stay and they made this long separation easy for us by keeping us informed about Tanner's activities and sending pictures almost every other day. It was especially wonderful to get a message after his first night there, assuring us that he settled in well. We could tell that during his time there, he was showered with love and attention and exercise--the pictures showed his state of bliss. Teri and Steve are dog whisperers. Tanner's tail will wag wildly when he sees them again!

It's important for us to set up a meet and greet, so we can learn each dog's individual needs. We love all breeds of dogs. Our only concern would be extremely anxious,(separation anxiety)or aggressive dogs. It would also be good for the dog to be leash trained. Currently, we do not have a backyard. We go on long walks, several times a day, with your dog, so this is an important consideration. We would always want all involved to be safe and happy.
A typical day
Here's where we'll take our walks We will walk your dog in our neighborhood. We go for at least 4 walks daily, with at least two being 30 or more minutes long.We can walk to the lakefront, or the Urban Ecology Center, both of which are nearby. We also use the tennis courts down the block from us. This provides a safe enclosure, so your dog can run and play freely. Your dog's sleeping arrangement A dog bed in our bedroom, on our bed with us, or wherever your dog usually sleeps. Time I'll spend with your dog We would be with your dog 24 hours a day. Most times when we run errands, we would take your dog with us. If we deem the weather unsafe for a wait in the car, we would leave your dog at our home, comfortably on the sofa. While awake, we are feeding, playing with, talking to, petting, or walking your dog. Time I'll spend with your dog I am willing to spend as much time as you would like, however this would include appropriate rate changes. Extra house-sitting services Yes. I would be happy to perform light household tasks.
