All dogs deserve happy tails!
Pet care experience
As someone who has been around dogs for 20 years, I have found nothing compares to the childlike excitement I feel when my dogs' ears and eyes perk up after they hear one of their favorite words or phrases: "walk", "dinner time", "play", and/or "good dog". My late dogs were two female Yorkshire terriers, Madison and Xena (pictured on my patio with me in my photo gallery; Xena on top, Madison on bottom), who lived happy, spoiled lives past their life expectancy. Xena was very small because she was a teacup Yorkie, so, I learned a great deal about being attentive and responsible in accordance to her whereabouts, fitness regimen, food, and play-time. Of course, Xena and Madi also taught me that patience really is the key, and positive reactions lead to positive results. I aim to treat your dogs, regardless of how much time we spend together, with the same respect, care, consideration, and love that I would give my dogs. Here’s a little information about me: I have been walking dogs since I was 9, and began to take on the responsibility of house-sitting them for 24+ hours I was in middle school. In high school, I started to pet-sit for neighbors on the weekends and after school (cats and dogs, primarily). However, I recently discovered I have a rather uncomfortable allergy to cats and rabbits, so I am no longer accepting jobs for watching cats and rabbits overnight. I do still accept drop-ins though! As of now, I have been a Rover sitter for two years and am fortunate to have 10+ awesome repeat clients! COVID UPDATE: As a dog-mom, I understand leaving your pup with someone may seem exceptionally stressful during this time and would like to assure you I am doing my best to to follow COVID-19 protocols. This includes social distancing and preventing the spread by wearing a mask during meet and greets, or whenever else is necessary. It is my goal to make your dog’s stay with me as easy for them as it is for you, however possible. I look forward to meeting you and your furbaby!
Reviews
Sterling did a wonderful job looking after our sweet, anxious pup. She clearly understands how animals communicate and we appreciated all the updates while we were out. We would definitely book Sterling again!
This was our first trip since the pandemic started. Sterling was extremely careful to keep that in consideration as she stayed overnight. The dogs definitely missed her! She sent many photos and kept me continuously updated. She is so kind and the dogs love her. I know my home and my babies are safe with her.
Leaving your pup when he has an upset tummy is hard to do, but Sterling was absolutely amazing and reassured me that Howie was in good hands. I appreciated her timely updates, attention to detail and all of the cute pics she would send me of her and Howie having a good time. Thank you Sterling for taking care of Howie while I was out of town! We really appreciate you and hope to see you again.
Sterling was awesome! The puppies can be a bit much, but they warmed up to her and she took great care of them. She sent frequent updates with many pictures. I appreciate her communication skills. For my first trip away from the pups, she made me know they were in good hands. Thank you again! Will definitely rebook in the future.

Information Sterling L. would like to know about your pet
Before I dog-sit: Is there anything your dog specifically DOESN'T like (i.e. being pet on a certain part of the body, the purple teddy bear toy your ex got them for Christmas, when you approach them from the back/side)? What is their temperament/socialization with humans like, specifically strangers? How does your dog socialize with other dogs? Is there a specific kind of treat they prefer or that agrees with them more? Would you prefer I not feed them any extra treats aside from their daily meals? Is there any activity they love above all others? I have no breed preferences, all dogs are good dogs!
A typical day
I love taking dogs on adventures to find parks or fields to play and run around in, maybe even a beach if we can! Or, if your dog is not the outdoorsy type, I'm all about settling in to watch the newest season of Broad City with lots of cuddles, affection, and indoor play. I'll happily keep you updated with daily (or hourly, if you'd like) photos of all our endeavors!
