Prioritizing fun and saftey

Pet care experience

Brooklyn native with a few years of animal care experience. I have worked in a kennel and found every minute around dogs enjoyable. During my time working I have undergone canine behavior training along with being certified by PetTech for CPR/First aid. While your pet is with me, I will ensure a fun and safe experience for your pet, Whether we are in the house, at the dog park, or walking along in the neighborhood, Your pet will be in great hands. I have taken care of many different sizes and breeds of dogs, I will customize your dogs experience based on their personality, breed and abilities in order to make sure your pet gets the exercise and enjoyment they need while you can continue through your day knowing your pet is being well cared for. Any and all active or relatively calm dogs welcome! -Availability: as a college student I am in school from 8am to 12:30 pm Monday-Thursday and are free afterwards. Friday through Sunday I am completely free.

Stephen was great....very responsible and caring. Akira is slow to warm up to new people but Stephen has been patient and willing to go at Akira's pace. I havd no doubt with more interaction they will become best friends! Thanks again Stephen!

Stephen was beyond amazing with Link! We appreciated the photos and updates during his stay. Upon picking him up, Link was so happy and looked like he had a great time. We couldn't recommend a more qualified, accommodating, and possibly a "dog whisperer" than Stephen.

In literally every imaginable way, Stephen is the perfect dog sitter. During the pre-stay, Stephen was very patient and willing to come meet the dogs on multiple occasions. During the stay itself, Stephen was flexible (our flight was delayed because of Stella and Stephen moved around his schedule for our dogs). Upon arriving home, our house was immaculate and the dogs somehow were better behaved than from when we left. If you want a courteous, patient, and caring pet professional, hire Stephen.

What are there favorite activities? Are they social? Are they potty trained? Any health concerns? any routines that i should continue?

A typical day

Based on your dogs energy levels, all walks and activities will be customized to fit the dogs behavior. Whether the dogs are active or ''Lazy'' They will receive the recommended amount of exercise and time outside. All activities welcomed, such as fetch, tug-o-war, and any other games one can think of, I will make sure to pack their favorite toys and treats to bring along. a dog park is easily accessible from my home, making it easy to help your dog socialize with others, for those dogs who prefer human interaction, plenty of people at home to interact with. I am open to any recommended activities by the owners and will strive to meet your plans for your pet. If the dog is still working on being trained (ex. to sit. use potty outside) i am more then happy to assist in helping reinforcing the training. Saftey: Leaving your pet behind can be very difficult. I want to help you feel confident that your pet is in the best of hands while you are away. During our walks I will be very aware of the surroundings and make my best attempts to keep your dogs safe from any and all harm. This all starts with my leash/harness check before any walk. I always check to make sure any harnesses or leashes are secure and ready to be used before stepping out the door. On our walks I am mindful about the dogs tendencies and will work my best to use their tendencies to keep them safe. This means I will be on the look out for dogs who try to eat anything off the floor or those who love to chase the birds that happen to land near by. Any dogs who are joining us on our walk will be introduced to each other in a calm environment in order to secure a friendly bond between the dogs. No matter the size or breeds of the dogs, I will be sure to intergrate them in a very calm and controlled environment. Leashes will always be secure during the intitial meetings of the dogs. I will always look for nervous or stressed behavior (such as slowed tail movement, bearing of teeth, stiffness, warning barks, dominate behavior) and break up any tense situations before the escalate if needed. For those staying at my home or over night there will be plenty of human interaction and supervision during their stay. As a college student I am still at home, this allows any furry friend who stops for a visit to get the chance to meet the family. My brother, who lives with me, currently works at a dog kennel and is also trained in dog behavior studies and CPR/First aid certified. Overnight stays are always welcome and the dogs will always be close by during the night. They may stay in my room and freely sleep on my bed, or sleep anyway in the room with provided bedding. Dogs can be escape artist; that is why I have a check list to insure the minimizing of a visiting pet going on an adventure without me. All front doors are to remain shut and the visiting pet must always be in the room with either me, or a family member who can supervise them at all times. I always carry around a card in my wallet for any near by vets and will always hold onto your pets vet information in case of any emergencies. for pets with anxious behavior and separation anxiety I will work my hardest to create a calm environment to help the anxiety subside. This includes many ear scratches and my full undivided attention. All aided by calming music to bring a certain calming vibe to the environment. The dog must feel safe and confident that I am a friend and that they can trust me. Your pets saftey and happiness is my pleasure. While your away your dog will be in great hands. During there stay at my house they are part of the family and will be treated with kindness and love.
