Pet care experience
I currently don’t have any pets, but for the past 10 years I have been dog sitting for my friends. I have volunteered at different Humane Society organizations and I have worked to help pair people with the perfect pet. What I love most about dogs is their personality, each dog has their own personality and it is always fun to see it shine through. I’m working with Rover be a pet sitter because of my love for animals. Since I can not currently have a pet live with me permanently, being a pet sitter gives me the opportunity to get my "Pet Fix" that I crave and do what I like to do best: Make pets the king and/or queen of the house. The most exciting thing about being a sitter with RoverGO is the opportunity to care for other animals as if they were my own. Boarding animals can cause the stress where bringing a sitter in to care for the animal(s) will result in a happier and healthier pet. If you choose to have me care for your pet, I guarantee you won't be sorry! I love to stay active with animals. If your pup stayed with me we would play ball, tug-of-war, wrestle, and go for walks around the neighborhood and hit up a nearby park. As the day winds down, I love to snuggle and cuddle with the animals. Watching a good movie while snuggling with the pet is the best way to end the day. During the school year, I am free early morning until 6:15 a.m. and free after 3:30 p.m.; during the summer and on weekends, I am free all day. When I’m caring for anyone’s pet, I believe it is all about love, patience, and a calm voice. Praising them when they do something well and giving constant encouragement is a great way to build trust and show that you care for them. Petting them, giving them kisses, and hugging them are also things I do to show them how much I love them. I also have experience caring for cats, rabbits, fish, gerbils, and hamsters. I love those animals for the same reason I love dogs: their personality. It is a surprise every time! If you need help caring for any of these animals, I would love to care for them as well.

Stephen is the best! I felt totally comfortable when he visited our home for our initial meet-and-greet, and he took excellent care of my fur babies (two mature part Maine Coon kitties) during my recent trip out of town . Their auto feeder instructions are complicated, but he took it all in stride. I would DEFINITELY hire him again!
Stephen was such a pleasure to work with. After having a cancellation from my original sitter he not only came to my rescue with a last minute notice he did everything exactly as I asked. He is reliable, trustworthy and you can tell he loves your pet as much as you do. Lucas was very happy when I returned and I could tell he also missed Stephen! I will definitely use him in the future, the peace of mind I had over seas was unreal. Thank you again.
Thank you Rover for introducing me to Stephen! He is amazing in his care and playfulness. He won over my reactive and guarded dog Lucky. Stephen knows dogs (and cats) well and he worked quickly to get Lucky's trust and affection. What a relief to find someone who can make Lucky so happy and relaxed! The house sitting, giving the dog medication and cat care all went well. It was great to have happy animals (and a clean house) to come home to. Now that I have a dog sitter, I can think about more trips. Thanks Stephen!
I have had the pleasure to utilize Stephen's services, after he came highly recommend to me. On each occasion, my dogs were peaceful and content upon my return and happy to see him when the opportunity presented itself, again. To build trust with a new pup I speak to them in a soothing voice and allow them to come to me. I also praise them and show them that I am there to protect them. Dogs can be nervous meeting a new sitter so I like to find out any tips the owner has to help quickly build trust between us. I believe the best way to provide excellent customer service is through communication. Consistent emails and text messages outlining the details of the stay is a great first step. During the stay, sending photos and fun captions to the owners is a great way for them to be part of the experience. After the stay, writing a letter outlining the details of what happened during the stay is a great way to summarize the experience.
A typical day
I love walking, hiking, going to coffee shops and being with other people. I enjoy taking in everything the area has to offer and love taking pups to different parks so we can stretch our legs or play ball. I love to stay active with animals. I would play ball, tug-of-war, wrestle, and go for walks around the neighborhood and/or the park. I also love to snuggle and cuddle with the animals and sometimes watching a good movie while snuggling with the pet is the best way to end the day.
