Retired Veterinarian's daughter.

Pet care experience

I have been around animals all of my life. I love dogs especially but also love all animals in general...but dog's are indeed a man's best friend! I am open to caring for all animals except snakes! My grandchildren are over at times but all of my children are grown. Your pet would be loved while in my care and taken care as if part of my family. My dad is a retired veterinarian and I have been around all sorts of animals my whole life including exotic animals. I believe all animals should be loved and taken care of in a way that they know they are loved. Our pets should be and are part of the family and must have the attention they need and deserve. I know I can provide a safe and loving home for your dog/pet where you do not have to worry about them while you are away. The pictures I have posted are of some of the dogs that have been a part of my life. The Siberian Husky 'Ruby' is my grandpup and she belongs to my son and she will come to visit with him sometimes. The Miniature Pincher was my husbands but we no longer have him. At this time we do not have any fur babies or animals of our own but dearly miss the company of having one. The Cavalier King Charles Spaniard 'Ginger' belongs to one of my best friends in Florida and she is the best dog ever. I've been around and cared for an array of different animals as a child growing up...I used to play with a young lion that belonged to a veternarian friend when I was little...helped my grandmother with chickens...my son, as a child, had an iguana named 'Harry', and we have had cats including a Maine Coon named 'Optimus'! My sister has an Amazon parrot that belonged to my dad from our childhood & he cries like a baby when you vacuum and says his name over and over again...'Oliver' is alive & well nearly 40 years later! Favorite quote: "If your dog doesn't like someone you probably shouldn't either."

Stephanie is beyond exceptional. Hammer has severe separation anxiety, completely freaks out around nearly every other dog he sees, and is very needy. We can't kennel him, and it looked as though we would have to cancel our trip until we saw Stephanie on Rover. After meeting her, we knew she was the sitter we were hoping for. The day I drppped him off, he was scared to death. Within an hour, she had texted us a beautiful photo of her grandchildren comforting him and from then on, he was so happy that we were honestly afraid he wouldn't come back home with us. She was kind enough to update us very often (our request) with fantastic photos that we will frame. She has a wonderful family that treated Hammer as one of their own, and we are forever grateful. When we need a sitter, we want Stephanie.

I absolutely reccomend leaving your fur baby with Stephanie! She was great at communicating with us while we were out of town. She sent us great pictures and updated us on how our Eve was doing every day. They even stayed up late after our flight was delayed so we could pick her up on our way home. Big back yard and lots of walks, we never doubted she was in good hands.

Stephanie looked after our 2 dogs over the holidays and she was amazing! She gave us daily updates and pictures. She was very friendly and answered any questions we had about our pups during their stay. Our one guy is quite hyper and she was extremeley accommdating. They both loved running around in her large fenced in yard. Highly recommend Stephanie and would love to have her look after our pups again :)

Stephanie was THE best pet sitter! We were hesitant to leave our dog, Pig, with a stranger while we were on vacation but she made us feel so comfortable. While we were away she sent daily updates and pictures and even made sure to tell us she had given Pig his medicine so I didn't even have to ask! She walked him, played with him, and even let him sleep in her bed. I can't say enough nice things about Stephanie. We will definitely be using her again next time we go out of town!

Information Stephanie M. would like to know about your pet

Anything that is important or pertinent to know that will help me to take care of them in the best way.

A typical day

My routine for your dog would be frequently taking him/her outside, also taking him/her for a walk or walks dependent on how long the dog(s) are in my care and also whether or not they like to be walked frequently or not as some owners prefer to not have them walked...they would be fed according to the instructions given by the owner as they could possibly have a special diet, etc. I would want to have any important information regarding your pet so that I can care for it accordingly. I live close to two parks that have walking trails that are ideal for walking the dogs and also I live in a nice older neighborhood that is nice for walking the dog(s). I have a fenced backyard and they will not be left alone in the backyard while in my care. When taken outside, I would accompany them and stay with them. I have two large kennels in my house which are available for use for dogs that are kennel trained or at bedtime, etc. I will not keep the dog in a kennel and they will have free run of my home. If I leave they will be kept on tiled areas and I use a child gate to keep them on the tiled areas. If they like the comfort of their kennel I will leave the door open for them to get in and out whenever they want. Discretion would be used based upon house trained or not. I am flexible, as I understand that there could be more specifics needed or required for different dogs. They would be loved and taken care of as if part of my family. Other pets which are not dogs would be taken care of according to your requests/ instructions!
