Growing up, I’ve owned many dogs. It was always my niche to teach them things. They’re incredibly smart and that’s how I knew I wanted to work with dogs. I started as a dog walker and would walk my same group of dogs in the afternoon from Hartford to Avon. After that, I shadowed for a vet at the Connecticut Veterinary Center in West Hartford. I then got my recent dog (who is a boxer/pit mix) and she motivated me to become a dog trainer, since I wanted to learn more about getting dogs to listen and be able to understand them more. So I am now a certified dog trainer (ABCDT) and work at the CT humane society doing some behavioral classes. I also work at a vet clinic (Animal Hospital of Berlin) as a receptionist.
