Pet care experience
I have been a dog owner all of my life and love all dogs. After putting my current dog through basic and advanced obedience training to become a therapy dog, I became an asset to the head trainer. I was hired to help her socialize and confidence building in other dogs, and that's when I knew I wanted to become more involved in the dog community. I recently moved to the Columbia area and work full time as an accountant. My job is flexible, and I would be able to come home at lunch to let dogs out. After work, I tend to go on long walks with my dog (and potentially yours!) and navigate the Columbia trail systems. Weekends would be the best with me, as I like to go hiking, find swimming holes, or attend dog friendly events.
Reviews
Stacie is a very caring person and took good care of Danny. When I went to pick up Danny, it was obvious that he had had a great time. He was happy and healthy and well entertained. I got just the right amount of updates from Stacie during Danny's stay with her. Her own dog, Bella, is a very friendly dog who got along nicely with ours.
While I'm unfamiliar with the requirements for being a certified dog sitter I believe Stacie eclipses those needs. She is a phenomenal dog owner in her own right, making sure Bella is healthy, active, and happy. And she had watched my dog for me more times then I can count. Every time I dropped him off he was ecstatic to see her and when I picked him up he almost seemed like he didn't want to leave. I think she would be a great candidate for this dog sitting program I hope you decided to utilize her skills.
Stacie started training with me at Off Leash K9 Training in January 2017 to attend the therapy dog development course with her dog, Bella. Stacie's insight & intuition along with her amazing work ethic in training with Bella quickly let me know this sweet lady is destined to work with dogs! After completing the 4 week basic obedience program with Bella, Stacie came on board as a paid employee with me to help with dog handling, socialization experiences, field trips, confidence building and also helped out with events and marketing. Over the next 4 weeks of Advanced training, Stacie began helping me out with issues ranging from shy dogs, dogs with major anxiety, dogs with fear reactive behaviors, unruly dogs, stubborn dogs, lazy dogs, hyperactive dogs and even dogs with aggression toward both other dogs and people. Stacie has also gone on to scent detection / nose work, tracking & trailing and search & rescue type work with Bella since graduating her Advanced training. Stacie and Bella achieved their American Kennel Club Canine Good Citizen Certification as well as their Therapy Pets Unlimited (TPU) Therapy Dog Certification. Stacie has also been entrusted to care for my personal dogs when I go out of town; which could be my best compliment to her character. I could not recommend Stacie enough if you are looking for a conscientious, knowledgeable, compassionate, dedicated, enthusiastic & dependable companion for your pet. Information Stacie S. would like to know about your pet
I would require a meet and greet beforehand. This would be to ensure our dogs get along (which usually is never a problem with Bella) and to make sure I can fulfill all the needs for you and the pet. Is the dog housebroken? Does he/she need a crate? (I have one) Are there any nervous and/or destructive behavior? (Chewing, digging, etc). Does he/she get scared or mad at certain things? (Doesn't like kids, people with hats freak him out, etc)
A typical day
Walks, hiking, going out to eat at dog friendly patios
