Energetic, patient animal lover!

Pet care experience

Hi! My name is Stacey and I'm a huge animal lover! I live in the Cleveland Park/Woodley Park area and work at NOAA. I am a big outdoor enthusiast who loves to hike, bike, and play outside, especially in the water. I also like to snuggle up on the couch to watch movies and welcome any canine companion who would like to join. As for my animal care experience, I grew up with a yellow lab named, Sugar, who was my best friend. I also rode and showed horses until the age of 15, so I am familiar with animals big and small. Additionally, in undergrad, I was a wildlife major and spent time working at wildlife rehabilitation centers helping sick and injured wildlife. I continued this animal care knowledge as a graduate student by regularly taking care of my landlord and her friends dogs throughout my three years. Their dogs were a wide range of small, big, young, and seniors. So as you can tell I love animals and I am waiting until the time in my life where I’m settled enough to have a pet of my own, but in the mean time I would love to take care of yours. On that note. please feel free to ask me any questions!

Stacey definitely has what it takes to care for any sweet dog! Our pup comes with quite a rulebook and thankfully nothing scared Stacey away. She’s mature enough to handle dogs of all aggressions and respects each dog with all their unique quirks. I trust Stacey to keep my dog safe, happy, and entertained while I’m away and I am confident you can trust her as well!

Stacey is FANTASTIC! I asked her to watch my two dogs for a weekend at my house and I knew right after meeting her that I could have peace of mind that my babies were in the right hands. She was great about communication and sending me updates frequently, which I really appreciated. Stacey is a true dog lover, very responsible and friendly and I will definitely be calling on her again the next time I have to go out of town!

Stacey is awesome! She has watched my two older dogs several times... one a 10 year old Husky and the other a 13 year old Airedale/Cocker mix. They are still doing great. Both have special needs and she is amazingly attentive and able to accommodate their strict routine. In fact, she watched and walked the Husky throughout his CCL/ACL surgery last July. A major undertaking considering his size and age. Stacey is an animal lover, a well educated mature woman who is intuitive and very responsible. I give her 10 stars (out of 5).

Stacey is incredibly bright and trustworthy, and is absolutely wonderful around my four pets. Sometimes she comes over just to love on my babies. Anyone would be lucky to have her watch over their pets!

Information Stacey W. would like to know about your pet

I would like to know if your dog has any food allergies or has any sort of medication they need to take. I would like to be aware of food or leash aggression, as well as their attitudes toward other dogs and animals. Also, if they are prone to any other behaviors such as leash pulling or anxiety. Basically, any information you would tell any kennel or boarder before leaving your dog there would be much appreciated!

A typical day

We can walk around the neighborhood, to the dog park, or throw the ball in the park. I'm also happy to play fetch and am great at belly rubs.
