I have had a dog as a pet since 1996. From puppies to adopting a 1 year old dog. From a lab to a Yorkie. Our neighbors all have dogs and we help each other out taking care if someone is gone for most of the day to a couple days on vacation. My dogs love to lay in the sun and look out the front door. We go for a walk every morning. One loves to just be outside so she goes out on a yard leash for 20-30 mins a day. I have several toys and tennis balls for them to play with. And I do give treats for tricks!
