A dog lover with big dreams

Pet care experience

I have been around dogs since the day I was born and have experience with all types of temperaments and breeds. I have been pet sitting for my neighbors animals for roughly 18 years now and have had previous experience working with rescue dogs at a shelter where the animals there came from a wide array of backgrounds. I am able to accomodate medical needs such as administering medications, monitoring blood sugars, and providing post-operative care. I am a flexible, patient person who is responsible and capable of attending to your needs.

Stacey stayed with my sweet baby girl for a week and I couldn’t have been happier with everything. Stacey was very attentive to my dog’s specific needs and she had probably not spent as much time in the park all year than she did with Stacey in one week! It made my vacation much easier to enjoy knowing my little one was having such a good time. Your home and furbaby are in great hands with Stacey!

Safety, trust & environment

Every dog is different and I try to incorporate individual needs for each dog. Depending on the dog, I’ll spend time with them to establish a bond and ensure they’re getting proper attention and love. For dogs who require more exercise and adventure, I’ll take for walks throughout the day, play games in the yard (if one is available), and go for little hikes. I’ve also cared for senior dogs who are just looking for companionship, in which case I’ll make sure I’m just in the room with them to provide comfort.

Information Stacey R. would like to know about your pet

It’s important to know how your dog reacts around strangers, what sort of aggressions they may have (food aggression, resource guarding, dominance, etc), and other behavioral tendencies they have displayed. If they have a history of abuse, or even an unknown history, it would be helpful to know that as well. I’d like to know if your dog has a bite record; I am not afraid of dogs who bite, but it’s important to know so I can be cautious and more keen to cues that might indicate such behavior. Additionally, allergies and/or medical conditions are a must-know. I do not have a preference of breed or age— I’m open to all types of dogs. I am familiar with many training exercises and techniques, so if you have a preference, such as the use of a collar, leash, harness, e-trainer, etc, I’ll be open to your options that best suit your dog.

A typical day

I love taking dogs on walks and hikes. If your dog is dog-friendly, parks will be a definite destination for them as well. If there are certain activities they enjoy, such as fetch, jolly balls, and soccer, I’m open to entertaining your dog in any way needed. Playing with dogs feels more like a hobby than a job.

I currently work part-time in person 2-3 days a week with the remainder of the week working remotely. Depending on my schedule, there will be days I can stay at the house for a majority of the day, whereas other days I can drop in and out throughout the day. Typically, I do not leave a dog unattended for more than 6 hours and will discuss any time restraints if necessary.
