I’m drawn to animals because of the unconditional love they give -- it seems that they just want to please you, which makes me want to take care of them. They’re also great companions and provide the perfect excuse to get out of the house and go for a walk! (I love it that they help me keep in shape.) I’ve had animals all my life. I had a chocolate Lab for 14-1/2 years and I was devastated when he passed. I fostered a leash-aggressive German Shepherd who I adored and the cat of a friend who died suddenly (the kitty passed from old age earlier this year). I am currently fostering two Yorkies -- a father and son -- and it was a foster fail because I’m in love with them and I couldn’t let them go! It’s true that I’m a softie for fur babies, but that’s why I love the arrangement that Rover offers so much because I can care for so many different animals. I’ve also taken care of birds, cats, fish and ferrets. I’ve been with Rover for nearly five years and I’ve loved all the animals I’ve had the pleasure to care for. I love meeting so many new animals -- they all have their own personalities and I adore them all! I use the money I earn with Rover toward fostering less fortunate animals. I live in Astoria and I’m always in the park. The park is big enough to have a nice walk and also has enough space that if a pup isn’t feeling social, they have room to be on their own and enjoy the outdoors. I love walking around the park and I also like walking the boardwalk at the beach -- both are much better with a four-legged buddy. Whatever it is that your pet likes to do, whether they’re curious and need something to focus on or they just want to play or learn a new trick, I’ll make sure your fur baby is occupied, happy and safe while you’re away.
