Hi there! My name is Sophia and I am a 28 year old recent grad student who lives in Waukon, IA with my mom and my two dogs (8yo cattle dog mix, 3yo husky mix) and her two dogs (2yo bichon frise and 14yo border collie mix). I grew up with fish, chameleons, bearded dragons, cats, dogs, chickens, alpacas... when needed rescuing birds, mice, squirrels (one lived in our home until he was old enough to move outside, "David" the squirrel is thriving <3); animals are my passion and joy, and caring for others' pets is something I take very seriously and respect wholeheartedly, but enjoy. Whether your critter has 4 legs, 2 legs (backyard flock of geese here in Iowa), or 3 legs (see my pictures), whether it's daily or weekly 30 minutes walks, or spending the night for 21 days and administering chemotherapy medications multiple times a day, I have done it and I feel blessed to be trusted with the opportunity.

Sophia is AMAZING! She obviously loves taking care of dogs, has great energy, and is all about giving the dogs she is watching all of her love and attention. Our dog loves when Sophia watches him, and we will rebook with her whenever we can.

I do not care for others' pets in my own home, but when I am caring for your pet in your home I strive to create a calm and stress free environment for your dog or cat, while still giving them as much attention as they need and are used to and following a routine familiar to them. When I'm overnight sitting your pet, I can either spend the night at your home with them or I can spend time with them in the morning, midday, and evening! I send lots of pictures and updates to keep you updated :)

I always tell owners, there's no such thing as too much information :) Likes and dislikes, sources for anxiety (such as storms or fireworks), allergies, energy level, and how multiple pets in the same household get along are all great information!
A typical day
When I am watching pets, I do my very best to keep them entertained and having fun! I love working on training with dogs if you have any commands you're teaching them or they already know, and finding ways to play with your pet and their favorite toys. When walking dogs, I follow a route that owners are comfortable with or recommend in their neighborhood.

I work part time from home doing data entry, so my schedule is totally flexible to fit your needs and make sure your pet is comfortable and cared for on a schedule that is best for them.
