Pet care experience
My own dog's need for tons of physical and mental adventure has led me down a path of shaping my schedule around making her happy. I asked friends and neighbors if we could "borrow" their dog to help me wear out mine, and over the years it has evolved to me getting paid to do something I love. My dog, Lexy, is a constant companion. We are a pet therapy team, and she's still very energetic despite her age. We both love having canine company as we live our best life each day.

Zinny has such an amazing day with Sonya and Lexy! Sonya is very attentive and her home was perfect for Zinny! Zinny has a full day of play in a huge backyard and was zapped by the time we came to pick her up. We would highly recommend Sonya for care and look forward to booking again! My pup Cai loves Sonya and her crew. Cai runs to the door when we arrive and after Cai’s time is up, she would prefer that I join her new pack, rather than head home with me. Sonya not only keeps Cai entertained but she understands Cai’s personality and tendencies. I have no doubt that Cai is in great hands when she is with Sonya. All of this to say — I highly recommend Sonya (even though Cai pretends not to hear me when I say, “It’s time to go!”)!
We met Sonya at Zilker Park where our dogs became fast friends, and realized we were neighbors. In the 3 years since, she has taken our dog and hers around town on numerous outings to Red Bud, Zilker, and a few other parks. At this point, our dog looks forward to seeing Sonya as much as Sonya's dog! We had zero hesitation giving Sonya access to our house, and have complete confidence she has mastered the balancing act of keeping dogs safe while also burning off all that energy! Simply put: Sonya is timely, trustworthy, friendly and responsible and we are so grateful she is in our lives!
I highly, highly recommend Sonya as a dog sitter. My active 3-year old dog Leo spends most Fridays with Sonya and her dog Lexy, which I know is his favorite day of the week. Every time we head over to her house, he makes a beeline for the door. Sonya is definitely a dog lover. She cares for Leo as though he were her own dog, giving him tons of attention and looking out for his safety. Sonya's great about getting dogs out - on walks, to parks, and to water (when the water is safe). When we get him back Friday evenings, he's tuckered out because of the big day he's had (which is nice because we're tuckered out too). For anyone looking for a sitter for their dog, you could not find a better person than Sonya. She really cares.

Our Barton Hills home is ideal for dogs with a large back yard (3' fence), two dog doors, and comfortable indoor napping spots. In truth, it's our dog's home and she allows us to live here too! If needed, we can arrange for me to care for your pet in your home as I have done for other pet owners when they travel.

Please have in writing information about your dog's eating schedule and habits (e.g. which treats are ok, if not food motivated, etc.), details about any medical conditions and medications plus veterinarian contact information, and behavioral habits and preferences (e.g. grumpy around puppies, afraid of thunder). I would also love to know about your pet's favorite tricks and toys! Also, let me know how I can reinforce any current training you are currently giving your pup.
A typical day
Every day we either play at a leash-free park, go on neighborhood or greenbelt walks, or go on other dog-appropriate adventures. Weather permitting, we play for at least an hour or hike three or more miles. We like to change it up, so we frequent several dog-friendly trails.

Availability
Your dog will get plenty of attention, as I plan to host a maximum of 2 guests at a time - maybe 3 if the personality mix allows - and I rarely leave home without canine company. We have multiple dog beds and sofas in case your dog needs a sleepover. I can help with pick up, drop off, or even drop by your place if your dog (and other pets) just needs food, a bio break, or an at-home play session. Let's talk about what makes sense for you.
