Pet care experience
I recently moved to San Diego from Virginia to start a doctorate program in Chinese medicine and acupuncture. Looking forward to meeting your furry family member! For all my clients, I do require that your dog is house/leash trained, and does not have a history of biting/aggression/severe anxiety. Ideal fits are calm, gentle, well trained and loving dogs. I’m happy to travel to your place for drop ins, house sitting, and walks. I currently am not able to board as my landlord does not allow dogs. I am also a yoga instructor, trained doula, healer, and visual artist—and animal lover, of course! I have found a lot of joy and fulfillment with the connections I’ve made with the dogs and their families. Looking forward to connecting with you 😊

As ever, Sonja was a wonderful petsitter, dropping in for a few days for walks/dinner time for our older golden, Theo. Sonja continues to be an excellent communicator and was very kindly flexible to slightly changed time ranges. Thank you so much!
Sonja was an absolute life saver for us--we had a last-minute need for a week of pet sitting for our very sweet and spirited 12-year-old golden retriever, Theo, and we got so lucky that Sonja was available to help us. Not only did Sonja clearly take wonderful care of Theo (and our place, came home to a very clean and nice space!), but we were all in great communication the entire week away. Plus we got really sweet photos and messages about Theo! It was such a relief to have someone so kind and trustworthy as Sonja caring for Theo, esp as I am such a worrier now that he's gotten to be a bit older. We will absolutely hope to have Sonja pet sit for Theo again!
Sonja is fantastic! We are always nervous with new pet sitters because we have a dog with strict medication/diet needs. Sonja was great with keeping things on schedule and keeping our dog happy. (Usually we can tell if something was off when we get back.) She came and met our pets and saw the house ahead of time and was extremely communicative while we were out of town. She also went out of her way to do extra cleaning before we came home, making it that much more lovely to return! Highly recommend Sonja and would have her back to care for our pets in a heartbeat.
Sonja is absolutely wonderful! She spends so much quality time with my dogs, whether it’s studying on the floor next to them or taking them for long walks. I know they are very well taken care of by her. Plus, I always come home to a very clean house, which I’m immensely grateful for. Looking forward to having her stay with Ellie and Luna again sometime soon!

I love to go for long nature walks-anywhere outside, especially mission trails or the beach. I will give my undivided attention and tend to stay off my phone during the walk so I can be fully present.

Availability
I have class during the week, but have a lot of openness within my school schedule. I have weekends and Wednesdays off, and often have time in the afternoons and evenings even on class days.
