Home & Hound Specialized pet care works with pets and their parents to provide the best, personalized care for each individual pet. I have been working professionally with domesticated, exotic and farm animals for over six years, but I have been around them my entire life My biggest passion in life is caring for furry, feathered, or scaled friends- that is why I have devoted myself to animal welfare and general animal care. I have worked everything from kennel staff at a non-profit animal shelter, as a dog handler at a large doggie daycare to vet tech for a low-cost veterinary clinic. Currently, I work part time as an assistant at a veterinary hospital. Over the years I have always taken care of pets on the side, and since moving to Ithaca I have made it into my main job, and I'm loving every second of it! In my years of experience I have taken care of every sized dog with every temperament, cats, chickens, turtles, snakes, chinchillas, hedgehogs. lizards, cows and more. I also love working with large packs, and have handled many play groups that have up to 25-30 dogs at a time. I believe that all dogs are individuals and thus treat and handle each one differently based on what works best for them. I love ALL breeds and mixes. I am a strong believer that there is no set way to handle or train a dog. I love taking the time to get to know a dog's personality and then go from there on deciding what methods work best with each individual dog. Big or small, shy or in your face, or even temperamental pups-I truly love working with all of them. Any medical issues that may need attention will have the best care when in my hands. Any behavioral issues such as leash issues (pulling or reactivity), lack of basic manners, puppy training and separation anxiety can all be worked on while in my care as well.
