Pet care experience
I have volunteered at the Oakland Humane Society and taken care of a wide variety of animals including cats, rabbits, and dogs. At home, I have a 5-year-old Formosan Mountain Dog (Reese). FMD is cat-like but so far had no problem getting along with all visiting dogs.

Susan is great! My pup really enjoys her stay. She makes sure to communicate throughout the time, with pictures and videos. Highly recommend her!!
Glad we got to meet Susan and leave cookie at her place. She was very friendly and good with dogs. Cookie enjoyed her stay. Susan shared updates and photos of Cookie every few hours. Overall we really liked working with Susan and highly recommend her.
Susan was amazing!! We left out fur pup Juneau for 2 weeks. We received pictures and videos daily . He seemed happy there and we were at peace knowing that Juneau was safe and happy !! Thank you so much Susan!!

we spend over 90% of the time together with the visiting dog. When we do have to go out, dogs are exercised before we leave to ensure they can rest easy. And when we are out, your pup will be protected by a fully fenced yard, and security cameras that monitors inside and outside of the house to ensure safety

She's generally well-behaved, but is cat-like, and will assert her boundaries when faced with equally dominant or overtly eager puppies. In the past she’s gotten along best with senior dogs, golden retrievers, labs, beagles and some FMDs - Preferred temperament: submissive, plays when it’s time to play and calms down after a couple of hours - Non-preferred temperament: dominant, protective over food and shelter, separation anxiety. Out of abundance of cautious, we respectfully decline sitting Akitas, German Shepherds, Beilgian Milanois and Chowchows at this time - crate is a must for all first time visitor
A typical day
A typical day involves at least two walks a day, individual play times and plenty of space to run and open access to the backyard. On weekend we also go on a hikes where possible.

Availability
My husband Tim and I are active people and believe that tired dogs are happy dogs. Depending on a dog's energy level and the weather, we generally can accommodate one hike during a weekend. We also live in a spacious house that comes with a fenced backyard, new turf for your pooch to stretch legs and sun bath.
