I fostered my sister's yorkies for 9 months. I loved them so much, I got my own chihuahua-mix. He's 7 years old (almost 8) and i have had him since he was 10 weeks. He loves other small to medium dogs. I also have dog sat for co workers and family. I think this would be a great way for my little one to make friends. I work during the day, so the walks would be before work, after, and before i go to bed. On weekends they would be more frequent . Your pet will be allowed on furniture and my bed, i have doggie steps. I use iams pet food and plenty of treats, but u can bring your own as well.
