In-Home Pet Sitter

Pet care experience

Hello and thank you for checking out my profile. I currently hold 5+ years of dog-sitting experience, typically in the client's home. I have experience caring for both puppies and older dogs, as well as dogs with shy personalities. I also have a lot of experience caring for animals with potential health issues, ranging from acute skin condition care and even dressing changes.

I'm a very easygoing person, if there is something specific you want me to provide please reach out, I want to make this as stress-free for you and your animals as possible, I understand that unfamiliar people coming into another dog's space can be a bit nerve-racking for them. Unfortunately, due to my current living situation, I am UNABLE to care for dogs in my home, I have a younger dog that is in training and is not always friendly to animals outside our family home. We have introduced and acclimated her to our group but have just recently started working on meeting other dogs outside of our home, so it is not worth the risk to your fur babies. I can care for pets inside the client's home. I am willing to stay with the dogs overnight or stay with the dogs during the day/as much as possible during the day and do a super early morning let out and a later (10/11 pm) let out before leaving them for the night, whichever makes the client feel more comfortable, and I am happy to discuss those details more with all clients. I try to stick to the dog's morning and nightly routines as much as possible, as I want it to be as stress-free for them as I can make it. If I have to drop in between plans within my schedule, I try to plan and stay with the dogs for a minimum of 30 minutes, as I do want them to be able to run around and stretch their legs out or if they just want to hang out and receive cuddles and pets, I am more than happy to do that as well. If the dog has a yard they enjoy running around in I will typically sit outside and toss a toy around for them if that is what they enjoy. I do cater to the dogs and what their typical environment consists of. I do make sure the dog has access and is always offered water as much as needed and wanted. If their food or water bowl is dirty I will clean it out. If your dog gets muddy and a bath/rinse-off is needed. If the weather calls for rain/storms and you have towels specifically used for the dogs please let me know, I also carry a few on me on the instance I need them and they are kept in the back of my car and cleaned after each use. If any questions feel free to reach out, I am pretty responsive and tend to respond fairly quickly, even if it is to acknowledge a message and I will fully respond as soon as I have a moment to do so.

Information Skyler D. would like to know about your pet

Information I ask all my clients to provide me with is a basic rundown of their pet's schedule. That includes a timeframe for feedings, as well as exact measurements; the first potty break in the AM and the last potty break in the PM with the frequency of potty breaks throughout the day. For any special needs/allergies, I ask that it be communicated clearly and in detail. As well as any basic commands the dog knows. If there is anything that the dog may be reactive about or any behaviors your household does and does not allow for the pets and how you correct them, every individual has a different manner in correcting their dog. Please leave the vet information in case of emergency - If the vet you use is not an emergency vet please list an emergency vet or maybe two that you would prefer to be used in the case of emergency, as well as emergency vets you DO NOT want to be considered in the case of an emergency. I did previously state, that I am a very easygoing person and will just follow all the instructions and stick to your pet's schedule as closely as possible, so leaving me a detailed list is super helpful, as I want you to be able to not have to worry about your pets while you are away, but you can always reach out while you are gone if you want pictures/videos or updates.

A typical day

I like to keep the dog's routine as normal as possible as a new person can be stressful for some dogs. If they have a favorite toy they like to play with I will lean towards that direction. I will and do take the dog(s) on walks if that is something that is typically in their schedule as well if the dog is in an apartment complex and has a dog run in the complex, I will take them over there to play and run around.

I typically structure my schedule around the pet's typical schedule, their needs are prioritized 100% of the time. I currently have a part-time/full-time job with flexible scheduling. Shifts at my job usually run around 5-8 hours, if longer hours pets will be cared for and checked in on before and directly after work. Please contact me before booking anything, with any questions you may have for me.
