Caring, respectful and responsible

Pet care experience

I was recently caring for a foster dog from one of the local Seattle animal shelters. The dog I cared for was found as an adult (2-5yrs old) stray who arrived at the shelter "scarred and scared". She had a huge heart, but a challenging start to this life. The foster dog initially was irradically reactive towards strangers and aggressive reactive toward other dogs. During the first weeks together, I both taught and learned alongside the foster dog. I recently brought the dog back to the shelter due to care-giver fatigue, and I really missing having a doggo companion. With months of experience a reactive dog, I am confident in my ability to manage more athletic and/ or challenging dogs while out on walks. I also understand that challenging dogs still deserve love. I am happy to meet multiple times and/ or follow any training practices you prefer to help get some of the more reserved dogs love and care.

Wally was super happy after hanging with Skye!

Skye grew up seeking opportunities to live out her love for animals; she has donated hundreds of hours of her time caring for dogs at Paws and Claws Humane Society and has been regularly been called upon as a cat- and dog-sitter by friends, neighbors, coworkers, and bosses. She truly enjoys getting to know the animals and spending quality time with them. She is trustworthy, impeccable with her word, and conducts herself respectfully and professionally. She is also reliable, timely, organized, and very easy to work with. I would definitely recommend Skye as a responsible and loving dog and cat caregiver!
