Your Best-friends 2nd best-friend!

Pet care experience

Hello, my name is Sierra. I am a recent college graduate that loves animals. I currently work for a humane shelter which keeps me learning about dog and cat care/handling everyday! In this position I train dogs, learn dog and cat behavior, give medications and know how to understand dog and cat behavior better. In this position I am able to give behavioral counseling and information on enrichment. I have 2 dogs of my own and a cat back home. I have grown up on a farm taking care of chickens, ducks, rabbits, cows, horses, etc as well as fostering kittens and puppies. I also am into gardening and will take care of your plants! I play rugby and lift weights so I can handle the biggest of dogs, I also have a large vehicle to take large dogs to their favorite spots in town! I have pet-sat and provided walks for numerous dogs of all shapes and sizes. I also am skilled in giving pets medication and supervision so your fuzzy friends are always in great care. I also know what the best “dog-tv” shows are if you need any recommendations. I can provide long walks as well as short runs (I try to run a mile everyday!) and lots of time playing fetch. Excited to meet you and your fuzzy friend! Some general notes: -For dog walking, I will spend 100% of the time with your dogs/dog even if they don't want to use their whole time walking! (The summer heat can get to them) and will gladly take them for a short walk or run and spend the rest of the time giving belly rubs and pets! -For dog walking, I will go over where you normally walk your dog and ask how they are around other dogs/people/etc and if they get anxiety -For dog walking, I will also feel concrete with the back of my hand for 7 seconds to make sure their paws are safe as well as watching the temp outside -For house sitting, I will spend the majority of my time watching your pets, I only leave if I need to run home for a bit, grab food, or if I have an emergency (which I will communicate the emergency with you and will make sure I am back in a timely manner) When I am gone I try to be back in 4 hours at the most! -IMPORTANT: I work from 8-11 and 12-5, if your pets can be left alone at these times please reach out so we can schedule a meet and greet! -For pet sitting/house sitting I will try to set a meet and greet before you leave so you can meet me and show me your pets! I know finding pet sitters online can be scary but I will try my best to make it as relaxed as possible. At the meet and greet I will go over expectations and what you want me to do while at your home (watering plants, checking mail, pets schedules, etc) I also will ask if you can write a list of important information down for the stay ( I want to be sure I can refer to something in case I forget!) I take full pride and full responsibility that your pets are in my care and will make sure everything will go smoothly. You will be updated with pictures and a detailed note after every stay, walk or drop in. Your pets are your family and I will make sure I take care of them as my family. A little about me: I have grown up in Mesa, CO but attend and work part-time at CMU! I am on the women’s rugby team, the scuba/freediving team, and the spearfishing team. I love the outdoors. I am an Acting/directing and business management major. I will be in Junction most of the summer. As a kid, I wanted to become a veterinarian but found comfort in pet sitting! I am a college student currently working only a few hours a week. IMPORTANT INFO: Due to class, I will not be available MWF from 10:30-12:30 and TR 12-3:30 and 5 pm-7:45 I can handle big and small dogs very well. It takes a lot for me to get pulled and understand that little dogs sometimes need carried on walks! My dogs sometimes get anxiety so I know how to help them calm down as well as reading their personality.

Sierra took amazing care of our cat and dog while we were away. She was very attentive to their needs and gave us frequent updates. We were at ease knowing they were being well cared for. We’ll certainly be booking with Sierra again in the future!
