Pet care experience
I am 28 years old, a senior Wildlife Ecology and Conservation Major at WSU, with prior experience in vet clinics and veterinary surgical centers in Portland. I have dedicated my life to taking care of animals and to making sure they are the most comfortable in their environment as I can make them. I provide after surgery care, including icing wounds, medications, heating pads, monitoring temperatures and providing an extra set of hands during the after care stage. I worked for the Veterinary Surgical Center of Portland as a kennel assistant and mostly focused on after surgery care. I have a lot of experience with nervous or anxious dogs and have no problems giving them as much space as they need or want and am happy to sit with you while we get them comfortable and adjusted to me. I'm very patient and if we are working on training, if you show me what you guys are working on, I'll do my best to make sure that routine is followed and continued. My goal as a sitter is to make sure that you feel safe and comfortable leaving your dog or cat with me, and to reach your expectations to provide the most comfortable fit for you and your furry friends needs. Shyla was great with my 10 week old puppy. We met up before hand to discuss any concerns and questions. I introduced my pup to her pup and they both had a great time. Shyla kept me up to date and was always timely with my check-ins and sent me photo as well. This allowed me to be worry free and focus on my day. She trimmed my dogs nails and also worked on some puppy training.
Shyla is one of the most caring and responsible people I know. She not only has proven to go above and beyond as a friend, but she volunteers at non-profit organizations happily. You will not be disappointed if you were to hire her.
Shyla is the most caring person I know. To me she is a mom figure amongst our group of friends. She’s always there for us in times of trouble and sadness. I would always count of her for everything. She’s a a very hard worker and even when stressed, she always finds a way to get things done with 100% effort. While going to school, taking care of her brother, a dog of her own, her friends and many more, she does it with a smile and 100% focus. I can’t express how much Shyla is a hardworking, caring, focused, and determined person to be around. She is one of my greatest friends and will be for many many years to come.

I love to know as much as possible about your pet, so the more information I can save, the better. What's their favorite toy? Do they get spooked by some things more than others? Do they like other dogs or like to be acting like lone wolves? All of this is super important to me!
A typical day
Depending on your dog's health, age, and energy levels, I'm happy to take them with me on all of my adventures. I often take dogs out to the walking trails around the Palouse (on leash), and have been known to go do puppy play dates at "Pups & Cups" coffee shop in Pullman.

Availability
I go to school full time and love working with animals when I'm not slammed with midterms. I am pretty available most of the time, and like to sit with animals while doing homework and reading. I'm pretty laid back and try to fit the animal's needs above what I would usually do or my own routine.
