Out of the fourteen years of experience, thirteen were spent caring for my own dogs (housebreaking to basic obedience training). I have one year of walking dogs at the local shelter. Being a former owner, I know what a comfort it is to know your dog is well cared for while you are away. I started volunteering at local animal shelters to gain experience handling different breeds of dogs. My ultimate goal was to become a dog trainer. After spending time at the shelter, I realized that what they needed most was exercise. Getting out away from the kennel environment seemed beneficial and when they see me coming they literally bolt out the door! A side benefit - it gives me some exercise, too. I may not have any dogs now but time at the shelter you're never alone. Though I am new to the dog care business I am not new to dealing with behavior problems. I prefer to sit or walk dogs with minimal behavior problems (NO food/possession guarding issues, separation anxiety, aggression problems, incontinence issues, etc.) as it will make life easier for your dog as well as for the sitter/walker (me).
