I have had the pleasure of working with Shireen for the past 2 1/2 of her 4 years as a licensed vet tech. Her compassion and dedication to animals is inspiring. Shireen is very detail oriented which is great when it comes to schedules and medicating. She love both cats and dogs, but isn't fond of Chihuahuas.
Me and shireen worked together as veterinary technicians. Right away I could tell how passionate she was and always seemed to have the wellbeing of the animals in mind. She is very caring and would be great at this!
As a new customer to the Rover, I couldn't be happier with the service! My little one isn't a fan of kennels, and is much more comfortable at home. Allowing a person like Shireen with years of vet-tech experience AND a dog and cat owner almost all of her life. I trust her and believe that my "fur baby" is in good hands. Shireen is a kind, energetic, fun person and when it comes to ...
Certified Veterinary Technician
Hello! I'm Shireen, CVT aka certified pet nurse! Looking for medical experience and a doggy walk? Look no further!
I've been working in the veterinary medicine field for about 5 years now. I am familiar with medical condition based care (diabetes, chronic heart failure) along with congenital conditions in some breeds (collapsing trachea, stenotic nares). If you need someone to come pill your pet because you can't? I'm your girl. If you need someone to ...
What Shireen would like to know about your dog
First and foremost, I need to know if your pet has allergies. Food or otherwise. A lot of pets these days have skin allergies and to not make them worse I need to know where it's safe to go. Dog's tend to lick their paw pads after a walk (I mean they don't wear shoes y'know!) and if they are exposed to something directly via the mouth it can cause a flare up. It's very important to me that you don't have to treat something you can help me and your pet avoid!
If your pet has any health condition or anything that you feel is vital to tell me about, tell me. Even if it sounds silly! I want to know about you and your expected care for your pet. Help me, help you and your pet.
If your pet is a bit ornery (and let's be honest, not every pet is excited to meet new people outside their circle of trust,) be upfront. If your pet definitely doesn't like other pets or men in strange hats with beards, tell me. It helps me be friendly yet cautious to your dog's needs. I've worked in the veterinary field awhile and it is always unhelpful to hear afterword that "Hey my pet normally bites" or "he/she doesn't normally like anyone." I don't want to put your pet at risk for a bad situation or myself at risk either.
Side note for Dachshund owners:
I am a huge dachshund fan as I grew up with 3 of them. They are feisty and if you give them a little they take as much as they can get. They definitely try to train you to their needs. They are a pretty fiercely loyal dog, and despite their size they will try to defend you from just about everything... all from 2 inches off the ground!
My last dachshund passed last year and I am without my favorite breed now. It leaves a bit of a hole, so even a little time spent with the breed makes me happy. Let me take your dachshund for walkies!
