Pet care experience
I started pet sitting when I was in high school for neighbors and friends and have continued through my adult life. I am very active and prioritize giving pets lots of outdoor time; taking them on walks, throwing a frisbee or ball for them, going on hikes etc. I genuinely enjoy the company of dogs so taking care of others' is a treat for me. In addition to dogs and cats I also have experience caring for chickens, goats and sheep ( although i’m yet to see one of these animals listed on a host’s rover profile 😂). The most important thing to know about me is that I am a joyful, energetic and fun person who will make sure your dog gets lots of time playing/ walking outside, is cared for and taken care of responsibly. I am also extremely tidy and make sure to leave any house that I stay at in sparkling clean condition when I leave ( there’s nothing like coming home to a nice clean house 🧼🧽😁) In addition to making sure your pet is well cared for and has a lot of fun during my stay, I also am very aware of their safety and health. Having had dogs my whole life I am very aware of dog behavior and signs. I pay deep attention to what your pet needs and plan my time around making sure they are happy and healthy.

Awesome pet sitter!! Shira took such excellent care of our fur babies. She took Frannie for 6-7 mi runs, daily, sent beautiful pictures of their outings and kept us updated with daily check ins. Couldn't ask for a better house/pet sitter!! 100% will use her again! Thank you so much.
Shira stayed with my dog Abbey for a weekend and was just wonderful especially since my dog was very nervous with a new person. Shira was patient and able to judge my dog's limits and work with her until she was more comfortable. Have already booked with Shira again. And she sends tons of photos, which is fun!
Shira was incredible! Our 11 month old puppy can be quite the challenge - 60 pounds full of energy. Shira sent picture updates and kept us in the loop with how our pup was doing. Shira even stayed later than agreed to. Highly recommend!

It is helpful for me to know your dog’s activity level, dietary restrictions and whether they are uncomfortable with any place or activity. I also would want to know if there are any quirks that I should know about. For example, the dog at the farm that I worked at was afraid of men wearing baseball caps. It was helpful to know that so that for when I took her on walks.
A typical day
I run every day and know the different trails, bike path and runnable/ walkable roads well. I love exploring Eilings park, Parma park and all of the trails in los padres. I have experience running with dogs (as a type of dog personal trainer) so I would be happy to take your dog for a run or just a regular walk.

Availability
I work remotely so I have a very flexible schedule and can provide frequent walks and outings for your pets throughout the day! On weekdays I tend to wake up early to run. If your dog is a runner I am happy to take them along and have experience doing so. Otherwise I will make time to take them on a long a morning walk followed by many walks over the course of the day as needed. On weekends, I love to hike, run, walk etc and will always bring whatever furry friend I am taking care of along
