Let’s get this out of the way first: I speak English und ein bisschen Deutsch, and my husband speaks fluent German so we can communicate with both locals and expats. We’ve owned, fostered and taken care of many dogs over the past 25 years. We have always had one or two dogs of our own and have often cared for my friends’ dogs in our home. I was a Rover sitter in California, USA for almost two years before moving to Germany four years ago. I started dog sitting with Rover because we (and our dogs) just love having other dogs around. Our pets (currently a Golden Retriever and a cat who thinks he’s a dog) are our beloved family members. In California, I volunteered with my favorite breed-specific rescue organization, the Golden Retriever Club of Greater Los Angeles Rescue doing home visits, adoption placement, and special events, and also with the national organization Best Friends Animal Society doing special events. I am very knowledgeable about dog behavior. When they stay with us, we treat your pets like they're our own and they’ll consider us their pack away from home.

Fig loves staying with Sheri and her two Golden retrievers! She makes it feel like he’s staying with family and always makes sure to update us with pics and videos of him either swimming in the pool or getting in some good play time. Thank you Sheri!

This was our first experience leaving our 10 yr old dog with someone other than family much less overnight! Our doggie loved staying with Sherri. She sent pictures which made me feel relaxed about staying with someone i didn't know. So relieved Rover.com recommended her! Our dog got along great with her dogs they became fast friends and a cat! They were so friendly well the cat just stayed away. All worked out so great! Sherri is so nice you can tell she loves animals. I would definitely ask her to watch Kahu again i think Kahu misses Sherri's dogs!

We have a fenced yard, kid/dog gates to keep them out of areas they shouldn’t get into (like the basement), and xl crates if your dog likes his own den for safety or security.

***IMPORTANT: PLEASE READ THIS BEFORE REQUESTING SERVICE*** We like to provide a safe and stress-free environment for your pets and ours, so no aggressive dogs will be allowed here. Smaller dogs (under 12 kg) don't usually do well with big dogs (even friendly ones) so carefully consider your dog's temperament when requesting a meet & greet. Since your dog(s) will be staying with us and our dog and cat, s/he MUST BE dog-friendly and cat-friendly (i.e. must have no, or a very, very low, prey drive). I do require a meet-and-greet prior to booking so please contact me a few days in advance of your desired stay dates; same day service requests for new clients will be declined. In addition, when you contact me, please let me know the following: any experience your dog has had with cats (or other small animals if your dog has not been around a cat before), his/her energy level and exercise requirements (specifically if you have a large/strong/heavy dog that pulls on the leash and/or is hard to control) and any behavioral/medical issues s/he has. THE DAILY BOARDING RATE IS FOR 24-HOURS. I’m flexible about drop-off and pick-up times; if your pick-up time is later than your drop-off time then there will be a day care fee added to the total. ***GOT A KITTY?**** Does your dog have a cat-sibling that s/he can't be without when you're away? We can take care of your kitty too! Our guest room is available for cats on a case-by-case basis (as long as we don't have any human guests here!). Our pets will not be allowed to interact with your cat (unless you say it's okay) but your cat and dog can spend time playing, and even sleeping in the guest room, together.
A typical day
We like to take walks in the nearby park, hang out around our house, and toss a ball around our very large fenced garden. We have a large grassy area for lounging and playing with toys. The dogs have the run of the house and can play together when they want but we have an extra large dog crate if anyone needs some "alone" time.

I’m home full-time and love to hang out with our dog and our friends’ dogs that come over for play-dates and to stay here overnight. My husband George works remotely from home and travels once in a while but when he’s home and not working he loves to spend time with the dogs.
