I've been a dog owner all my life! I have two children, ages 7 (going on 25) and 9 who love dogs and are well behaved around pets. We spend a lot of time around our house, playing in our yard, and would love to spend time with your dog while you are away! I see pet sitting as a great opportunity to spend time with my favorite animal! My two children love dogs and pet sitting is something we can do together as a family. Learning about caring for animals teaches kids responsibility and respect--and there's no better teacher than a dog! We also have a great home and nice, large fenced yard that would serve as the perfect place to host a dog. I work 4 days a week and am home in the evenings and weekends. Having provided care and medications for an aging, sick dog, I am well versed in caring for older dogs and dogs who require medication or have special considerations. We will be sensitive to your dog's energy level and need for attention as we are used to dogs who love attention and dogs who like to rest quietly and have space. As a pet owner myself, I try to be the sitter that I would look for if my dog needed care. I would love a sitter who responds quickly and is friendly and polite--and I know you will too. I would also love regular updates throughout my dog's stay. Providing these two things give owners peace of mind. I also know that while in our care, your dog will be safe and loved. We will make sure to understand the dog's personality and preferences so we know how best to interact with the dog while he/she stays with us! I take my work and responsibilities very seriously. I have raised both my children by myself since they were born. Caring for my family and spending quality time with them are my first priorities. Being a single mom has taught me the importance of trying to keep to a routine and providing structure for safety, but also providing room for my kids to thrive and grow. I am extremely responsible and reliable, sometimes to a fault--at times I can overextend myself and don't take time to relax! I see pet sitting as an opportunity to provide the same level of love and care for a pet when they can't accompany their family on a trip out of town, as I know what it's like to leave a pet behind and wonder and worry about their well-being.
