I am grateful that I could find someone to care/feed my pet rabbit and feed my fish while on vacation. However, I would not hire Shelley again because I believe she was doing more in my house than caring for my animals, which causes trust issues. Due to security camera footage, I was aware of her coming and going and noticed that on a couple of occasions, she left wearing different clothing than when she arrived and noticed that she would sometimes carry in a tote bag and plastic shopping bags full of what looked like clothing. When we arrived home, we found her folding clothes in our bedroom as well as noticed that the shower had been run in the bathroom. I also found an item of clothing in my bathroom sink that she left behind. Left me with a very icky feeling. Also, although I mentioned that I was flexible with feeding times, I did communicate that I would like feedings to happen within a certain window of time every day. On many occasions, Shelley arrived well beyond the times I had communicated to her and on a few of the visits, she stayed more than 2 hours during the stay; which to feed a rabbit and some fish and allow a little bit of play time seems to be very excessive for the duties expected. On a couple of the visits, there was someone with her and on one visit it was clear that she had given our garage code to this person as they opened the door without Shelley present. It’s hard enough having a stranger in your home when you are away, but having trust broken is very disappointing. Had Shelley communicated a need to do laundry or shower or need to use my home for other than caring for my animals, I may have understood and complied, but to do so without explanation or permission otherwise has left a very bad impression on us. But on the bright side, my rabbit is still alive and appears to have been efficiently cared for and is happy.

I am beyond grateful to have met Shelley. I have tried two other Rover sitters in the past and two neighborhood pet sitters. I was about to give up on finding a great sitter but decided to try Rover one more time. Shelley was fantastic! She arrived as scheduled and completed tasks. She is beyond amazing. This is my first River review, even though Shelley was my third Rover pet sitter. I didn’t feel right leaving bad reviews for the prior two sitters so I didn’t leave a review at all. However, Shelley deserves a review. She is awesome!!!!!!
