Welcome to A Home Away From Home! We are the place happy dogs come for a vacation! My home is located in Oakville. We have raised two of our own dogs as well as trained a golden retriever puppy that was used as a service dog for the Lions Foundation of Canada. Our semi-detached house has a large fully fenced backyard. Surrounding our home we have lots of walking paths. Each day for your dog includes at least two walks in the neighbourhood as well as unlimited indoor and outdoor playtime at home. Our golden retriever is very friendly and loves to play with other dogs. You bring your dogs favourite food and we will provide the treats and toys as well as lots of TLC! An additional charge will be applied to puppies, x-large dogs, special needs and holidays. For the health & safety of all dogs in my care I require all dogs to be fully vaccinated (Rabies, DHPP, Bordetella, Distemper & flea & tick prevention). This is to ensure all dogs stay healthy. Please let me know all about your dog by completing the profile questions on your pup before we set up a Meet & Greet. Looking forward to meeting you and your furry friend!

We are always so comfortable leaving Lexi with Shelley. We know she will be loved and well cared for. Plus she has so much fun with Ty their beautiful lab. Shelley keeps you well informed and you are able to really relax knowing your loveable pet is well taken care of while you enjoy a vacation!
This was the first time our 12 year old pup went to a dog sitter. Shelley was fabulous. She put us at ease from the moment we met her. She was interested and eager to know about our pup from likes to dislikes, to quirky habits. She suggested a day pre-visit a few weeks prior to the long stay so he could get accustomed to going to her house. At no time did we worry about him. The twice a day updates with pictures were wonderful and allowed us to see how he was doing. She was warm, and engaging, and clearly loves dogs, and was very understanding of our pup when it took a few days to settle due to missing us. I wouldn’t hesitate to recommend Shelley, and would also not hesitate to use her again.
Barney enjoyed his stay with Shelley over the holidays. Ty is sweet and gentle dog which is reassuring for Barney. He is very comfortable and we really appreciate getting regular pictures and updates from Shelley.
