Pied Piper of Canines
Pet care experience
My Mama has always lovingly called me the “Pied Piper of Canines” because of my instant rapport with all animals, especially dogs. I’ve been caring for dogs for many years now and I’ve never met one who didn’t love me (and vice versa!) I’m engaging and patient, even with the more difficult dogs who may be skittish or aggressive. Whether it's play-time on the living room floor or walk-time around the neighborhood, I'm always observant and talking to your pet. On walks outside I am always aware of surroundings and possible threats like dogs off leash, speeding cars, kids running in area, etc. I’m also punctual and reliable, which dogs need as scheduling and routine. ***I'm a school bus driver, so I get a break during the day from about 10am until 1pm during the school year. I do care for a dog during this time a few days a week, however can fit one in for a walk or to be let out when needed. After 5pm I'm available until about 8:30pm and won't usually answer texts as I have to wake up early, but weekends I'm more flexible! (And I'm vetted by the gov't on a regular basis so I'm trustworthy!) Additionally I work with dogs “in training” if needed, whether it’s obedience training, potty training, etc. Aside from sitting for friends/ clients, I have also volunteered at Houlagans Rest shelter! I worked as a CNA so have knowledge from classes and clinicals about wound care, administering meds and any first aid situations that should arise, and keep pet first aid apps on my phone just in case. Please enjoy pics of my 'happy customers' that I was lucky enough to snap pics of, and a few pics showing my 'lineage' of animal-adoration from early 1900's! I'm conveniently located in Brandermill!! ** I am also able to care for guinea pigs, snakes, rabbits, fish, ferrets and most everything else in the exotic pet world :)
Reviews
Another trip and we did not have to worry about the care of our pet. Shelley always does a super job taking care of our pet. Thank-you Shelley!
Another worry free trip knowing Shelley was taking care of our dog. Our dog loves her! In addition, Shelley is very reliable.
Shelley is great. This was the second time we booked her. Would recommend and most definitely use her services again.
Shelley did a fantastic job! She went above and beyond to care for our pup and it was a relief to know he was in good hands while we were away. She is very communicative with updates and pictures which we appreciated. We would love to work with her again!

Safety, trust & environment
I have a neighbor's cat who has adopted me, and a couple of Rover/ neighbor's dogs who get to come to "aunt Shelley's" house. As I stated in my profile, when I'm with your dog, my FULL attention is with them. I'm chatty (to a fault), so I'm constantly taking to pets, especially on walks. With training in Loss Prevention/ security, I'm VERY aware of my surroundings and always looking for threats and dogs on/ off leash.
Information Shelley C. would like to know about your pet
How are they on walks? Do they pull? Do they pee when detecting other dog events in someone's home? Jump upon greeting? Go nuts when they see a squirrel /bird/other animal and want to run at them lunging (safety!) Medical conditions?
A typical day
I like to find out ahead of time (not always the case however), what toys are a favorite. I engage them with their favorite toys if they're smaller dogs if not walking. Often times walks are more personal especially with larger breeds because we're moving and the train of thought is fluid- by this I can direct their attention away from other dogs/ squirrels and other distractions. I have MANY toys, including ones that dogs have to use their mind with, as well as being physical (enrichment toys: work to get the goodie inside).

Availability
I'll only make myself available for what I can do. As with anything- if you don't give yourself enough time to do any job, you are rushed and mistakes can happen! Just like driving a school bus, mistakes are NOT an option when caring for pets! I will update my schedule as soon as I possible can (a few times daily). If at all possible, I will help out on very short notice. If you have an emergency, I will do my absolute best to help out. Just please allow me time to respond as I'm also driving some summer school hours to help the county out :)
