Pet care experience
I grew up with a sweet, sometimes mischievous golden retriever and wrangled her into walking cooperatively with me - a determined second grade kid. I've spent a lot of time taking care of the houses of family friends and looking after their dogs, and have no problem working through issues that inherently come up being a stranger approaching your dog. More recently, I had a morning routine of driving over to a friend's house and taking her energetic lab with me on my morning run - something I've been missing since moving into the city. I have no doubt that your dog will be as happy as I am to go out on our walks together. *Currently work a 9-5 job with some flexibility to work from home (in the case of dog boarding).

Shelby was superb, amazing, understanding and kind. My pup was a little nervous and didn’t warm up at first. Even had a few accidents (hasn’t happened in years!!). She took it in stride and showered him with love and encouragement. He quickly got more comfortable and when my plane was ridiculously late Shelby was patient and understanding. I can’t recommend her enough
Shelby was able to win over Spanky in record time! She has been reliable and flexible with all requests in the multiple times that we have worked together. I would recommend her services to absolutely anyone.
When it comes to having someone take care of your best friend there is no one else I'd consider besides Shelby. Shelby is an unbelievably hard worker, responsible, and caring individual. She has taken care of my 3-year-old black lab, Ryder, many times. She has gone above and beyond each time and my dog truly loves her. I feel completely safe and comfortable having Shelby take care of my dog as I know he only receives the best care. Shelby has always been on time and clearly loves working with animals. She is incredible good with my dog, and the other dogs she has previously watched. I have had many others watch and walk my dog before and I can honestly say Shelby is by far the best option. I highly recommend her.
Shelby has been an animal lover since she came to the world. She is kind and loving and fun with animals. She is also responsible. I would trust her with my pet any day!

Training! Is your dog good on the leash? Will he or she come back if called (if we agree on an off-leash walking time)? Temperament. Does your dog get along with other dogs? Small dogs? Big dogs? Will he/she take a nip at a passing runner? A skateboarder? A child? Energy level. Can your pooch handle a slow jog, longer run, or is he/she only able to handle a more leisurely walk? Age. This one kind of goes along with energy level, but what can your dog handle and what can I look out for?
A typical day
I live in Crown Heights but would be happy to travel around to walk your dog, so don't let my address stop you from reaching out! If your pup is the running type, I always enjoy a good running buddy and could probably tire them out pretty well for you. If they are good off-leash, I can pick them up during off-leash hours for some quality fetch time (I am an ultimate frisbee player and could throw all day). Really though, it depends on the dog. I can work with you to figure out what your dog enjoys most and we can go from there.

I'm on a pretty flexible work-from-home schedule and am free to pop out (depending on distance) throughout the day, with higher availability after I stop working my day job @2pm PDT.
